From Canada, we move over to Thailand [the formal opening of Taipei 101]. Do you also know that on this day in 2004, Taipei 101, which was then regarded as the tallest building in the world, measuring about 1,667 feet, which is, 508 metres, was opened in Taipei, Taiwan .
From Canada, we move over to the United States of America [the official handover of the Panama canal]. Now, on this day in 1999, the United States of America formally handed over complete control of the Panama canal to Panama.
From the United States of America, we move over to South Korea [the birthday of PSY]. Do you know that on this day in 1977, PSY whose original name is Park Jae-Sang, a South Korean singer and rapper whose song “Gangnam Style” garnered so much attention and became the first video to have more than one billion views on YouTube, was born in Seoul, South Korea.
From South Korea, we move over to the world of football [the birthday of Sir Alex Ferguson]. Do you know that on this day in 1941, Sir Alex Ferguson, a Scottish football player and manager, the longest serving manager of the English Premier League giants Manchester United (1986 – 2013) was born in Glasgow, Scotland.
