This weekend I went to the Easter Market in Wiesbaden. The Easter Market is on until Sunday and Saturday seemed a good time to go. It has been a while since I have visited the centre of Wiesbaden. I have driven through a few times and the last time I had planned to go was to see the Swan Lake Ballet at the theatre but my daughter was not well so I missed it.
We were expecting some easter themed stalls with eggs and other easter paraphernalia but we didn't actually see a single one! The stalls were all either food or arts and crafts stalls. It did actually say that on the website though.
The market is setup in the main shopping street in the pedestrian zone in Wiesbaden. We first walked to the start of the shopping street and then proceeded to walk along. There were many stalls and lots of people out and about. Living in the countryside, it was nice to get a change of scenery and visit a city and see lots of people around.
Wiesbaden is a very posh place with some great architecture and a really posh vibe about it. It is kept very clean and you can see the buildings are all very well maintained too. It is a great place to walk around as there are lots of open spaces and plenty of places to grab a coffee or wine. We encountered a couple of stalls selling wine and they were very popular. In front of one there was probably the smallest stage ever with some live music. I recorded a small sample, click here.
Not only that, there is some lovely well kept parks all along the city centre where you can escape into some nature and feel that you are out of the city, but in the city. More to come of this in a future post.
Thanks for viewing.
