I was FREED from the virus right on Christmas evening!
Hm.... does jam mixtures like these really work?
Blueberry... very tempted to try this, with this nice bottle display
This looks "expensive" and may be low in sugar...
Oops... guess I was wrong
Mom did specifically asked for mixed berries, and this just so happened to be on sale
Oh.... look.... other than "harmful stones" (?) this is also low in Sodium 👍🏼
Guess which one I picked in the end?
A Merry Blessed Christmas to you! 🎄
Wishing everyone good health, wonderful reunions, and blessed peace with time of rest!
I was so worried if this virus is going to drag through the season.... but Praise be to God the Highest! I am freed just in the evening of Christmas eve!
Unfortunately, my parents are still tested positive....
That being said, I was finally "officially FREED from quarantine" and was able to move about freely, but still with caution as I still had slight cough lingering.
Unfortunately my home ran out of jam... and I got to pick it home so that mom and dad can have some decent "sweetness" from the bitter medication
Other than that, I also ran out of Avocado, and it is still good for mom to have some if possible.
However, picking jams are actually quite tricky if you need to be on the "healthier end"
Because not all jams, especially marmalade have natural sugar from the fruits. And the easiest to find are "berry based jams".
Yet, all lot of off the shelf jams are mixed with a combining / emulsifying agent like jelly / genatin for cost
Not to mention additional sugar that also acts as a preservative agent as well.
I was almost drawn to the "imported" blueberry jam, as dark berries are supposedly good for my mom; although I already always use dried blue berries as part of her overnight oat meal.
But once I flip to the back just to double check, it took me a while to spot the "syrup" because the sugar content was lower than usual. 😅
Having sugar laced food is not going to be good for covid recovery because it promotes phlegm building. Still a no go for me.
In the end...
God is still good, as just so happened the favourite no-preservative natural berry purree jam was on sale! Things has been going getting so expensive that these "good stuffs" are harder to grab hold. And since it is on sale (cheaper by a few bucks) I could "splur" a bit and get something better than cheap jelly-like jams for mom and dad.
"Wallet conscious" is very crucial for me until everything reserve is restored and ready.
How about you? Would you hunt for discounted good products?
Until Then
Stay healthy, stay curious and learn new things, and stay happy!
