I too have a handful of books I might be tempted to run into a burning building to rescue. Those books that stand the test of time--like the one sweater one wears all the time despite having a drawer full of other sweaters. !BEER

In my case, that would be favourite shirts that I wear much more than the other ones in my wardrobe.

In recent years I've adopted a policy of "moderate minimalism," slowly reducing the amount of stuff, but not going to the extreme of chucking everything out. I've reduced my library by about 50% and don't miss the books I've parted with, but there is a core of about 100 or so books that really matter to me.
