Desde mis inicios como docente, acostumbré a llevar un recuento minucioso de las fechas importantes a nivel nacional y mundial, y creé un registro muy amplio con éstas, ya que esta información formaba parte de la guía de trabajo.
Recuerdo que una vez me topé con una fecha que me llamó la atención, porque hablaba de la importancia de centrarnos en las cosas positivas de la vida, en la alegría, la felicidad, las buenas vibras, y el optimismo. Esta fecha mundial se conoce con el nombre de “Yellow Day”, o su traducción al español, “Día amarillo”. También lo conocemos como Día del Sol, Día del color amarillo, o el más hermoso de todos los títulos, “El día más feliz del año”.
El Yellow Day, como muchas otras fechas conmemorativas o reflexivas, nos invita a revisar las cosas buenas de nuestra vida, por qué la felicidad es un estado y no un evento transitorio u ocasional, y lo más importante, nos conlleva a reflexionar acerca de todo lo que suma energía positiva para nuestro bienestar.

I remember that once I came across a date that caught my attention, because it talked about the importance of focusing on the positive things in life, on joy, happiness, good vibes, and optimism. ¿Pero por qué el color amarillo? Porque éste está considerado el color de la felicidad, y simboliza en nuestras vidas lo positivo, las alegrías, el optimismo, la creatividad, la inteligencia, y la fortaleza. Se le relaciona directamente con el Sol, por ser la mayor fuente de energía.
Los expertos en este tema, revisaron situaciones psicológicas, meteorológicas y emocionales a nivel mundial, para coincidir en que esta fecha reunía las condiciones esenciales para celebrar el día más feliz del año, y sinceramente, ¿Quiénes somos para contradecir una hipótesis tan positiva como ésa? Hagámoslo una teoría, porque les confieso que para mí este día ha resultado un espacio maravilloso para reflexionar y mirar mi entorno, buscando en él las cosas más pequeñas de mi vida, lo cotidiano, lo simple y lo sencillo, para saber que con eso ya soy feliz.
Sonrían, y disfruten hoy del día más feliz de año.
