Finally a little relaxation. For the first time the alarm goes off at eight in the morning. Quick breakfast and we head to the monkey temple in time for the opening. This allows us to visit the site for an hour without too many tourists around.
The temple is a forest area that includes multiple areas such as several temples, cremation sites and cemeteries. Here live more than a thousand monkeys divided into coffin groups with many specimens of different sex and age !.
The vegetation is the rainforest, very lush. Monkeys are cute but better not to bother them as they are free to go wherever they want and are often attracted to visitors' backpacks.
After the visit we have some free time and give ourselves a half-hour foot massage. When you walk a lot it's a panacea. I would like to be able to make another one before I leave again.
At lunchtime we moved to the sea, also on the island of Bali. Here we are guests of a Beach Club. A tamarrata for Western tourists. However, the sea is beautiful, a little rough with waves that prevent bathing. Here we enjoy the sunset with incredible colours.
I love when the sea is rough. I often get bored on the beach, but with horses I could stay in the water for hours without ever getting tired (actually I get very tired playing with the waves, but I only find out later). I also find it very fascinating and here the beach is beautiful. If instead of this huge beach club there was a simple bar, it would be much better.
We end the evening with a few dances on the track and then head to our hotel. Tomorrow the sea is waiting for us again.
Finalmente un po’ di relax. Per la prima volta la sveglia suona alle otto del mattino. Rapida colazione e ci dirigiamo al tempio delle scimmie in tempo per l’apertura. Questo ci permette di visitare il sito per una oretta senza troppi turisti in giro.
Il tempio è una area forestale che comprende più zone come diversi templi, luoghi di cremazione e cimiteri. Qui vivono più di mille scimmie divise in bare gruppi con tanti esemplari di diverso sesso e età!.
La vegetazione è quella pluviale, molto rigogliosa. Le scimmie sono carine ma meglio non infastidirle visto che sono libere di andare dove vogliono e spesso sono attratte dagli zaini dei visitatori.
Dopo la visita abbiamo un po’ di tempo libero e ci concediamo un massaggio ai piedi di una mezz’oretta. Quando si cammina tanto è un toccasana. Mi piacerebbe prima di ripartire, di riuscire a farmene fare un’altro.
All’ora di pranzo ci siamo spostati verso il mare, sempre sull’isola di Bali. Qui siamo ospiti di un Beach Club. Una tamarrata per turisti occidentali. Tuttavia il mare è bello, un po’ mosso con onde che impediscono la balneazione. Qui ci godiamo il tramonto con colori incredibili.
Adoro quando il mare è mosso. Spesso mi annoio in spiaggia, ma con i cavalloni potrei stare in acqua per ore senza stancarmi mai (in realtà mi stanco moltissimo a giocare con le onde, ma lo scopro solo dopo). Inoltre lo trovo molto affascinante e qui la spiaggia è bellissima. Se invece di questo enorme beach club ci fosse un semplice baretto, sarebbe molto meglio.
Terminiamo la serata con qualche ballo sulla pista e poi diretti al nostro albergo. Domani il mare ci aspetta di nuovo.
