There are many possible plans and all plans have a rationale behind them like yours.
HBD offers stability while HIVE fluctuates but I always prefer to have HP because the potential for future value increase is much higher than APR of 20% of HBDs.
But of course it is just my opinion and my plan may be correct but also wrong :)
