Hello friends and members of Olio di Balena community!

Today is Thursday, February 22, and like every Thursday I have a nice and recurring posting task here on Hive: The Olio di Balena-Inleo Weekend Threading Contest.

The Olio di Balena - Inleo weekend threading contest is the result of a collaboration between the Olio di Balena and InLeo communities and has, as always, a double objective:

• create a moment of interaction and sharing among the users of Olio di Balena
• raise knowledge of a useful tool created by Inleo for Hive communities: the Community Threads

Starting next week there will be a small change to this initiative that will affect only the account that will post this contest which will no longer be my main account (livertycrypto27) but will be @odb-contest.

In fact I have decided to create an account dedicated to this initiative and also to a new initiative because Inleo has proposed me to organize in the Olio di Balena community also another initiative that will be called Olio di Balena Weekly Top Authors and whose announcement post with all the rules to participate I will publish on Saturday, February 24, 2024, in two days.

After this little update parenthesis, it is time to show you this weekend's new contest theme and the announcement of the winners of the previous contest.

New Weekend Contest Topic

The theme of the new contest is again a theme related to our beloved Hive because you have to answer the question:

What is the token in the Hive ecosystem that you care most about?

Explain why you chose it and include in your thread a screenshot related to the token you chose (e.g. a screenshot of your wallet or a screenshot of the token's value graph).

You can choose between HIVE, HBD, HP, and any of Hive's second-level tokens such as LEO, DEC, SPS, ZING,..., ...

Important Notes:

• Your thread must also contain 1 photo or 1 image or 1 screenshot
• Enter a photo/image pertaining to the topic of the contest.
  The photo/image must be your own, it can be a photo/image you have in your photo archive but you cannot use a photo taken from the web even if it is copyright free and you cannot use AI generated photos.
• Threads containing only a photo or only text will not be considered.

Contest Deadline

• Start: February 22, 2024

• End: Monday, February 26, 2024 - 11:59 p.m. UTC-1

Contest Rules

• Rule 1:

You must create a Thread within the Olio di Balena community (= a thread with tag #oliodibalena).

• Rule 2:

Write a community thread in which you answer the question: What is the token in the Hive ecosystem that you care most about?
Explain why you chose it and include in your thread a screenshot related to the token you chose (for example, a screenshot of your wallet or a screenshot of the token's value graph).

• Rule 3:

• Your thread must also contain 1 photo or 1 image or 1 screenshot

• Enter a photo/image pertaining to the topic of the contest. The photo/image must be your own, it can be a photo/image you have in your photo archive but you cannot use a photo taken from the web even if it is copyright free and you cannot use AI generated photos.

• Threads containing only a photo or only text will not be considered.

• Rule 4:

you can choose to write your thread in Italian language or English language or both.

• Rule 5:

you must be a member of the Olio di Balena community.

• Contest DEADLINE:

the contest starts today, February 22, 2024 and ends at 11:59 p.m. (Italian time = UTC+1) on Monday, February 26, 2024.

Contest Prizes

• The 5 Threads that generate the biggest interaction will receive 10 LEO = 1.75 HIVE
  New IMPORTANT NOTE: If the contest will have 4 or fewer entries, LEO prizes will not be awarded. Instead, prizes in HBD will always be awarded.

• 3 Threads will be chosen randomly and win 1 HBD each

• Your thread could also be voted by Inleo

The total prizepool of this week's mini contest has a total value = 50 LEO (=8.55 HIVE) + 3 HBD (= 8.77 HIVE) = 17.32 HIVE = 5.82$

How to Create a Thread in Olio di Balena

(Step-by-step guide)

A Thread is a Twitter-style post created and stored on the Hive blockchain through the use of the Inleo User Interface (UI)

A Community Thread is a thread posted within a Hive community and viewable within the Communities->"Community Name"->Threads section of the Inleo UI.

Olio di Balena community threads can be created and viewed within the Threads section of the page: https://inleo.io/communities/hive-146620
A thread is viewable in the Olio di Balena community if it contains the tag #oliodibalena

Creating a Community Thread is a very simple task and I will show you the steps to follow.

Step 1: Login to Inleo.

• Step 1.1: You have to go to https://inleo.io/ and then you have to click on Log in
  

• Step 1.2: On the next screen you have several log in options to choose from including: LeoAuth, QR Code, Hivesigner, Hive Keychain

• Log in with Hive KeyChain: You have to enter your Hive username, then you have to click on Log in and then you have to click on Confirm within the Hive Keychain screen.
  

• Log in with LeoAuth: You have to enter your Hive username, your Posting Key and then you have to click on Log in.
  

Step 2: Enter the Home Page of the Olio di Balena.

• Step 2.1: You need to click on Communities.
• Step 2.2: You must enter "Olio di Balena" or part of the name in the search field.
• Step 2.3: You must click on the box that contains the logo and name of Olio di Balena

• Alternative Step 2: you need to go directly to the link: https://inleo.io/communities/hive-146620

Step 3: Create and post the Contest Participation Thread.

• Step 3.1: Within the Home Page of Olio di Balena you need to click on Threads
• Step 3.2: Then you need to enter the text of your thread in the box that contains the #oliodibalena tag
• Step 3.3: Then you need to click on Thread in the bottom right corner.

Operation completed! Easy right? ;)

Now all you have to do is participate in this nice mini contest ;)

Advice: If the text of your thread exceeds the maximum capacity of a single thread you can also write a threadstorm.
In this case only in the first thread you have to insert:

• the tag oliodibalena
• the tag threadstorm
• the 1/x indication where x is the number of threads your threadstorm contains.

All other threads after the first one you must enter them as comments to your first thread indicating for each thread the number of the tread such as 2/5, 3/5, ... 5/5

The Participants and the Announcement of the Winners of the 24th edition of the Weekend Contest (February 15, 2024 - February 19, 2024)

Today I was unable to view all the threads of previous contest participants from the Olio di Balena Community Thread section: https://inleo.io/communities/hive-146620

There must be some update going on and I am sure this problem will be fixed soon.

In the contest that started on February 15 and ended on February 19, 2024 there were 15 participants.
I now show you all the community threads that the 15 participants posted.

The participants in the 24th Odb-Inleo mini contest had to do the task that you can read in the following screenshot.

The first participant in chronological order was @duvinca who discovered Inleo not long ago but is learning to use Inleo better and better and more frequently.

Pousinha shared her difficulty in using the Hive blog interface and that is why she uses peakd.

I personally have not used the Hive.blog interface for a long time because there are more userfriendly front ends.
I have always preferred Peakd and Ecency to Hive.blog and now I am using a lot the Inleo front end which although it still has aspects to improve is making great and fast progress.

Oggi è giovedì 22 febbraio e come ogni giovedi ho un piacevole e ricorrente impegno di pubblicazione qui su Hive: L'Olio di Balena-Inleo Weekend Threading Contest

Il mini contest Olio di Balena - Inleo è nato dalla collaborazione tra la comunità di Olio di Balena e InLeo e ha come sempre un duplice obiettivo:

Come Creare un thread nella comunità di Olio di Balena

(Guida passo passo)

Un Thread è un post Twitter-style creato e memorizzato sulla blockchain di Hive tramite l'utilizzo della Inleo User Interface (UI)

Un Community Thread è un thread pubblicato all'interno di una comunità di Hive e visualizzabile all'interno della sezione Communities->"Nome Comunità"->Threads della Inleo UI.

I Community threads della comunità di Olio di Balena possono essere creati e visualizzati nella sezione Threads della pagina: https://inleo.io/communities/hive-146620
Nota Importante: Un thread è visualizzabile nella comunità di Olio di Balena se contiene il tag #oliodibalena

Creare un Community Thread è un'operazione molto semplice e ti mostro i passi da seguire.

Passo 1: Login su InLeo

• Passo 1.1: Devi andare su https://inleo.io/ e poi devi cliccare su Log in

• Passo 1.2: Nella schermata successiva hai diverse opzioni di log in tra cui scegliere tra cui: LeoAuth, QR Code, Hivesigner, Hive Keychain

• Log in con Hive KeyChain: Devi inserire il tuo Hive username, poi devi cliccare su Log in e poi devi cliccare su Confirm all'interno della schermata di Hive Keychain.
  

• LeoAuth: Devi inserire il tuo Hive username, la tua Posting Key e poi devi cliccare su Log in.
  

Passo 2: Entrare nella Home Page della comunità di Olio di Balena

• Passo 2.1: Devi cliccare su Communities

• Passo 2.3: Devi cliccare sul riquadro che contiene il logo e il nome di Olio di Balena

• Passo 2 alternativo: devi andare direttamente al link: https://inleo.io/communities/hive-146620

Passo 3: Creare e pubblicare il Thread di partecipazione al mini contest.

• Passo 3.1: All'interno della Home Page di Olio di Balena devi cliccare su Threads
• Passo 3.2: Poi devi inserire il testo del tuo thread nel riquadro che contiene il tag #oliodibalena
• Passo 3.3: Poi devi cliccare su Thread in basso a destra.

Operazione completata! Facile vero? ;)

Adesso non devi fare altro che partecipare a questo bel mini contest ;)

Consiglio: Se il testo del tuo thread è superiore alla capienza massima di un singolo thread puoi anche scrivere un threadstorm.
In questo caso solo nel primo thread devi inserire due tag:

• il tag oliodibalena
• il tag threadstorm
• l'indicazione 1/x dove x è il numero dei threads che contiene il tuo threadstorm.

Pousinha ha condiviso la sua difficoltà ad utilizzare l'interfaccia di Hive blog e per questo motivo utilizza peakd.

Io personalmente non uso da tempo l'interfaccia di Hive.blog perchè ci sono front ends più userfriendly.
Io ho sempre preferito Peakd e Ecency ad Hive.blog e adesso sto usando molto il frontend di Inleo che anche se ha ancora aspetti da migliorare sta facendo grandi e veloci progressi.
