Absence, change and renewed commitment

in HivePoker10 months ago

Dear beloved members,

It is with mixed feelings that I write this post - after being absent from the community and the projects for nearly three months.
During this time, I've been struggling with a significant health challenge that required my full attention and commitment.

As some of you may know, I was diagnosed with blood clots in my right lung, which led to an unexpected journey of hospital stays, treatments, and recovery.
I am happy to say that I am doing much better despite still dealing with it.

First and foremost

My sincerest apologies for my absence and for any inconvenience it may have caused. Perhaps not inconvenience, but I know I would have been impatient with new poker tours!
Your support and understanding mean the world to me, and I am truly grateful for your patience - be it on purpose or not.
It wasn't easy to step away from the projects we've built together but it was a necessary step in prioritizing my health and well-being.

Staying positive

or... I try to stay positive
This experience has been a reminder of how fragile life is and the importance of taking care of ourselves.
Despite the challenges, there have been silver linings along the way. One positive aspect of this journey is that I was physically unable to go outside and have a cigarette. This went on for just about 2 weeks and that has lead to significant change in lifestyle:
I am no longer smoking

Yes, you read that right.
Sometimes, it takes a health scare to jolt us into making positive changes, and for me, quitting smoking has been a crucially important step towards prioritizing my long-term health and well-being. It's a decision I wish I had made sooner (like, over 7 years ago when I became a dad), but I am grateful for the opportunity to do so now. And my daughter is proud!

Moving forward

I am excited to re-engage with our projects and initiatives with renewed commitment. But I also want to take this opportunity to encourage you to do the same. Let's use this moment as a catalyst for greater engagement, collaboration, and impact. Together, we have the power to achieve remarkable things.

Please share your ideas, feedback, and suggestions for how we can continue to grow and evolve as a community. Whether it's through meaningful discussions, collaborative projects, or simply spreading the word of our community and events through positivity. Every contribution matters.
Your voice is valued, and your involvement is crucial to our collective success.

In the coming weeks and months, you can expect to see more regular updates, content, and opportunities for engagement. But more than that, you can expect a renewed sense of purpose and passion driving everything we do.

Once again, thank you for your support and understanding. I am deeply grateful for each and every one of you, and I look forward to the journey ahead, together.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Casper

Casper good to see you back to good health. You have probably looked at this already . My feedback would be to do a survey with the people who are playing poker and find out in what part of the world they are in so we can organise the event times to suit the majority time zone. Once you know where they are they you can arrange a time that is suitable. May be a case of doing one event for the people in the states / Europe and maybe Asia. The evenings in GMT after 8pm are good for me. I know a couple of people you tagged are close to GMT like myself. @thehive , @tengolotodo , @blackdaisyft isn't tagged but she's fire at poker.

It is hard finding times that suit most people. I often play in tournaments on PokerNow that are all crypto communities and times can be 6pm 7pm and about 8pm all UTC on different days of the week. Sometimes I can make them sometimes I can't, but anything between 4pm and 6pm is almost impossible for me.

People like @pvmihalache @idksamad78699 @slothlyd @caribdao might be interested as they also arrange poker tourneys

All tagged: should I add you to the tag list of HivePoker?

@pvmihalache @slothlyd @slothlydoesit
Been talking with you guys before. Getting back to health now and will be in touch. Should it just be on discord?

@idksamad78699 @caribdao
I don't remember having talked with you before about colab (or poker in general). Would you be interested?

You have me all in 😆

Glad you're back healthy and active again, please add me to the tag list. We play poker with the slothbuzz community every second Friday at 6pm UTC, which seems reasonable for most. we use Pokernow, an online browser-based poker game so easily accessible to most.

Slothbuzz would be able to help with some rewards for events. We look forward to more information and the upcoming games.

You're now on the tag list! 🙌🏼
I remember. Been playing a few of them myself, bit that's also a while back now.
Hope we can make a grand poker tour of this collaboration 💪🏼

The downloading of too many no one knows who owns or how legit they are apps is not for me and why I am not listed here.
Everyone wants a poker room and free crypto, no one wants to build one.

Trying to find a solution for that with the apps and do onchain poker. I'm optimistic. Latest I've heard is that the team is working on it.

Someone who will host a site and someone people will trust with funds generated is all that is needed.

Sounds so much easier than it is.

Kryptogamers.com?

First up:
@blackdaisyft would you like to be added to the tag list for HivePoker?

Then:
Thank you, it's definitely good to be back to a condition where I feel more or less like myself again 😊

I have a feeling that most are fairly close to GMT (or utc, same same but different).
The survey is a good idea. I recall asking when would suit people better but didn't really get the expected feedback. Perhaps a little gift when the survey is complete would drive more people to reply (or even do an actual survey)

PS. Quite a lot of likes for a comment 😄
