Proverbs 24:10
If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.
The battle of affliction is a battle of stamina and strength. The devil wants to find out how long you can stand. This is why a Christian must build capacity.
Long fasting and prayers are there to build capacity, because there are certain battles that you would not see the enemy, you just need to stand and weather the storm. If you go through the fire, you will not be burn, if you go through the water you will not drown.
There are certain battles that the only way out is to stand strong till the end. That is why in;
Ephesians 6:19
And pray for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the Gospel.
The goal of the battle is for you not to give up, because there so many battles that are meant to weary you out.
After Satan tempted Jesus and he didn't fell, he left him for a season. The aim of Satan is to keep coming with afflictions. Your job is to keep standing any day Satan comes, that is why your pray should be 'Lord help me to stand strong always'. The battle is not always about winning, it is about standing to the end.
Your job is to stand in both the time of affliction and joy. Whether God answers or not, you will keep praying. The goal is not in the result, but in the becoming of someone with capacity that stand the test of any affliction that devil has to bring.
