Don't Allow Over Familiarity To Steal Your Blessings.

Don't become familiar with me. Don't do it. You see, familiarity is one thing that slowly creeps into relationships and slowly but surely destroys those relationships because familiarity creates space for disrespect, disregard.

And it causes someone to lose sight of the essence of the relationship that they once valued so much or that once had purpose and had mutual benefits. You see, the truth is you can't relate with everyone the same way.

There are people who have a very important role that they play in your life. They have some great attachments to your purpose that you have to be very careful how you relate with them.

Spiritual leaders, mentors. You know, friends, parents, all these people. But what you would find is that lots of people will become so familiar with people that are supposed to help them and uplift them or introduce them to their next level. They'll become so disrespectful to these people. They'll become so familiar with them and the entire essence of the relationship will be lost.

I've seen people who, because they've become so familiar with their pastor and spiritual leaders, they start disrespecting them. They have no respect for their teachings, no respect for their faith.

They have no respect for their prayers anymore. So they can't receive from these people anymore.

Now, am I saying that you shouldn't be acquainted with your spiritual leaders or mentors or friends? That's not what I'm saying. You can be friends with people. Friendship is really important. But disrespect is not allowed.

You know, there's a way you can be close with someone. There's a way you can, you know, relate with someone and have all the fun that you want. But when disrespect comes in, it's a clear sign that familiarity has taken place.

You see, if you read in the book of Mark chapter 6, the Bible narrates a story about Jesus Christ. Now, there are certain miracles that Jesus couldn't do in his hometown. They were looking at him as the captain's son. They probably saw him as a young boy running all around.

They could never believe that this man was the same man that was sent to deliver them. And because of that, they couldn't receive from him. They were looking at him as the captain's son. And because of that, they couldn't receive from him.

Please don't cheat yourself. Don't allow familiarity to steal from you all the blessings that God has placed in people for your sake.
