God said you have to keep your cool in the midst of whatever hard time comes my way. Even when it's hard to find God in the positive, choose to look for him in the negative.
One of the most important parts of your walk with Christ is worship. Believe it or not, you have a choice on what you want to focus on. I like to always ask God, what opportunity is this situation giving me to show me who you can be for me?
Worship, in short, is your demonstration of gratitude unto God, whether it be through song, whether it be through kindness, whether it be through discipline, whether it be through patience.
Worship is showing God that you're grateful for who he has been and who he will be, and it also shows you that you acknowledge who he is in your life.
A lot of times we go through things as Christians, and it's so hard to find the positive, and it's so hard to find what to be grateful for in the middle of a situation.
But the Lord spoke to me, when you cannot find the positive, look for me in the negative. Not only does that remind us that God is always good, no matter what is going wrong, it trains our mind to stay focused on God in any given situation.
The Bible tells us, whatsoever is good, whatsoever is honorable, whatsoever is of good report, keep your mind stayed on these things. And the God of peace. We'll keep you in perfect peace.
A lot of us are just stressed and depressed because our focus is on the wrong thing. We focus on how can we get this done, how can we achieve this, what's happening with them, what they think about us. And the whole time we're supposed to be looking at God. That should be our focus at all times.
It doesn't mean that you're ignoring the rest of the situation, but it does mean that in spite of it, who is God and who has he already been?
