Some of us have been bound for so long, being free feels strange.
When I was delivered from depression, anytime something happened around me that made me feel like I was going to fall back into it, instead of responding in my dominion, my authority that Christ gave me, I responded in defeat.
When God delivered the children of Israel out of captivity and was walking them into their promised land, anytime they saw a sign of the Egyptians coming back or anytime they saw a sign of something that might lead to death, they immediately complained and began to respond out of sorrow. Let me tell you something. Your response determines your review.
The Bible says without faith, it's impossible to please God.
But he also says that he's given us power to tread on serpents, scorpions, and every power of darkness in this present world.
You can't respond to freedom the same way that you respond in captivity and expect your new environment to react to an old response. If you get a wound or a scratch, depending on how you respond to the pain determines what will be revealed, whether it's a deeper wound or medicine so a scab starts growing.
You can either go in prayer or go get that medicine and read that word, or you can allow depression to overtake you, you can believe the lies of the enemy. You can isolate and live in defeat, but that's not who you are. When you were depressed, when you were going through trauma, when you were in that toxic relationship, maybe you retaliated in front of fear. Maybe you isolated yourself.
I need you to hear that where God is taking you, you cannot afford to respond like you did when you were bound. You have to respond with his word. You have to speak those things that are not as though they already were because your authority is in the power of God in you.
I know that saying, you got to do something you never done to get something you never got. The same thing applies in the season that you're in. Maybe that looks like letting go of that toxic relationship. That looks like praying for more than five minutes a day. That looks like reading a chapter a day instead of two verses.
This is a new season. You have more access to things when you're free.
The Bible says that you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.
Live in it, walk in it, speak it, declare it.
