I need you to hear that God is proud of you.
Proud of you, not because of what you've done, what you've failed at, what you've succeeded at, but because you are simply his child.
We grew up in a society that is designed to measure our value by our accomplishments. Growing up in school or at home, if you pass a test, if you do something right, you're rewarded. And yeah, maybe that system of measurement was used to bring some good out of us, but it's not the logic we should live our life by.
If somebody walked up to you right now and was like, I'm proud of you, and you're just sitting there looking at a wall, you're not going to believe them because you don't, you're like, for what? Like what for?
That's why a lot of us find our identity in our success and what we succeed at versus what we fail at. And if we fail at something, we feel like we have no value, we have no use.
That is a lie from the pits of hell. A lie from the red hot fiery fires of death.
The enemy wants you to find your identity in literally anything other than who God says you are. So he'll try to make you feel like when you sin, God doesn't love you anymore, as if your sin is who you are.
The people that will end up never giving their life to Christ, God still loves. Because he doesn't love you for what you can do or hate you for what you cannot. He loves you because he created you.
He created you and loved you before you even knew what love was. When you were an infant, before you were in your mother's womb, the Bible says he knew you.
So I want you to know that when God says he is proud of you, he is proud of you because you are his child. And I don't care who told you that you weren't valuable.
I don't care who told you that you weren't worthy of God's love. I don't care what you did in your past or what you will do in your future. He will love you forever and always. The life that we live to honor God is demonstration of our love for him, but it does not reflect his love towards us.
