Can we stop trying to pass God on the path we ask him to lead us on?
And all believers are included.
God, what are my steps? God, align me with your word. I'm acknowledging you so that you can direct my path.
Because every time that you start walking and following him and the paths are looking a little scary, you start trying to lead the way and change the direction.
And we wonder why we keep going in cycles. And you think you're taking a shortcut or you think you're protecting yourself, but really you're taking yourself further from the destination that God has assigned and called you to.
You can take that job opportunity, but is that the platform that God wants to use to elevate you?
You could get in that relationship, but is that the person that God has called you to be with? Or do they just feel safe?
If God is supposed to be our God and we've never been to the destination before, doesn't that mean that we actually have to follow his lead to actually know where to go?
Joshua 3 and 4, the Ark of the Covenant was what symbolized the presence of God that the Israelites carried around with them.
Before they crossed the Jordan into their promised land, the Bible says that Joshua assigned certain people to carry that Ark before the other children of Israel actually crossed over to the Jordan.
Between the children of Israel and the first ones that are to carry the Ark of the Covenant over into the promised land,
there should be 300 feet in distance.
We couldn't even get close to the leader. Because the people need to be able to see the Ark in front of them to know which way to go. If they try to get next to it, they won't know that that's...But if the children of Israel were standing, they wouldn't recognize who the real leader was.And the problem is we're trying to stand so close to God, we forget that he's leading and we're following.
A little further, Joshua 3 and 11.
Behold the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord of all the earth
is crossing over ahead of you, leading your way into the Jordan.
