I was for some weeks away from my streets on foggy mornings. Some early morning work had me out later in the day wandering the streets or country roads, so by the time I got out the fog had completely lifted. However this week I had the opportunity to go out and take photos when the streets were still a bit foggy. I have to say that the town is different when it's like this, if everything here happened "slower" when the fog rolls in...

Estuve durante algunas semanas alejado de mis calles en las mañanas nubladas. Algunos trabajos para hacer temprano me han hecho salir más tarde a deambular por las calles o los caminos rurales, así que cuando salía ya la niebla se había marchado en su totalidad. Sin embargo esta semana tuve la oportunidad de salir a hacer fotos cuando las calles aún estaban con algo de niebla. Tengo que decir que el pueblo es distinto cuando está así, es que si todo aquí ocurriese "más lentamente" cuando la niebla hace acto de presencia...

In addition to fog, we have also had rain at night and during the early morning hours. This makes for a damp, and in many cases a little sad, street view... The decay of the houses' facades, the cracks in the pavement and the weeds sprouting in some corners, combine to highlight how far we are from those days when the local economy was better and more than half of the population had not migrated... I can say that, sometimes on these grey days, going for a walk in the town's streets is not the best way to cope with the depression...

Además de niebla, también hemos tenido lluvias nocturnas y durante las primeras horas de la mañana. Esto hace que la visión callejera brinde escenarios húmedos en en muchos casos un poco tristes... La decadencia de las fachadas de las casas, las grietas en el pavimento y la maleza brotando en algunos rincones, se conjugan para resaltar cuan alejados estamos de aquellos tiempos en lo que la economía local era mejor y más de la mitad de la población no había migrado... Puedo decir que, algunas veces en estos días grises, salir a caminar por las calles del pueblo no es la mejor manera de lidiar con la depresión...

One thing that cannot be denied, however, is the immense amount of scenes to photograph that these streets offer me when it is foggy. The town is small and sometimes lonely in some neighbourhoods, but under certain circumstances (and the fog is one of them) everything seems to multiply to become an excellent "photographic hunting ground"... That makes me get away a bit from my inner ghosts and concentrate on capturing as many scenes as possible, always trying to register in them that "decadent mood" about I'm writing here... After all, there can be no poetry without drama... And "drama" is something that seems to abound in these streets wounded by fog and humidity...

Sin embargo, algo que no se puede negar, es la inmensa cantidad de escenas para fotografiar que me brindan estas calles cuando hay niebla. El pueblo es pequeño y a veces solitario en algunos vecindarios, pero bajo determinadas circunstancias (y la niebla es una de ellas) todo parece multiplicarse para convertirse en un excelente "coto de caza fotográfica"... Eso me hace alejarme un poco de mis fantasmas interiores y concentrarme en captar la mayor cantidad de escenas posibles, siempre procurando registrar en ellas ese "aire decadente" acerca del cual estoy escribiendo aquí... Después de todo ¡No puede haber poesía sin drama!... Y "drama" es algo que parece abundar en estas calles heridas de niebla y humedad...

They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.}
