When our birthday comes, we will celebrate it with a small gathering in our family, sometimes, we will invite our friends to eat and celebrate with us during birthdays. There were some small drinks from the families and friends and after celebrating, they will go home.

Although, I've come to different kinds of birthdays but this is my first time going to a Birthday Mañanita which I think is a tradition to the old people where they will serenade to the person who is having a birthday early in the morning. Yes, it's early in the morning that we will serenade to the birthday person.

I didn't experience this one before but when I went here, I think it was really worth it and I think it's better to bring back this kind of tradition to the Filipinos where their family or even friends will go to the birthday person's house and serenade it until the birthday person will wake up. The goal is to wake the birthday person while serenading in front of their house.

We were given one candle each that attend to the Mañanita and we light each one of them and I think there's reason behind lighting the candle. As we finished lighting it up, we also sing songs together up until the birthday celebrant will wake up and will open the doors in front of us. We were happy to see the birthday celebrant that she is opening the door as soon as we start singing together and she also dance in front of us which is great.

After that, we went inside their balcony as we were giving some birthday message to each of us that attended in the Mañanita. We were happy to see that the celebrant is very happy as she listens to the birthday message to all of us and as I listen to the messages that they say I also inspired by it.

Imagine, she is now 83 years old and counting but she can still manage to walk around the house and also to go and see the company, too.

It was my first time experiencing about Mañanita and I really don't know more about it since I was born but I learned that Mañanita has a long history that many people don't know and I was one of the people that doesn't know.

All I thought that Mañanita is something like a Manita for Christmas like people will give gifts to others just like giving gifts but it isn't and it's different from what I thought.

Although that this is my first, I could say that experiencing this kind of event for a birthday is one of a kind and there is another Mañanita that we will be having again and this time, it's the CEO's dad because this time it was the CEO's mom.

I am looking forward to the Mañanita of the CEO's dad which will be held next week and I think it will be another fun experience as we will go to their house again to sing songs in front of the house.

I remember a long time ago, I stayed at the school dormitory, and one of our head teachers was celebrating her birthday. We also had a Mañanita, and we woke up at 3 a.m. because we had to walk to her home. I didn't know that tradition until I experienced it.

I also didn't know about this until it brought up by one of our colleagues. It's one of a kind experience about birthdays.

Wow happy 83th Birthday 🎂🎂

It's not my mom nor my grandma is having a birthday but it's our boss's mom and we say happy 83rd birthday to her.
