Hi! How are you guys doing? I hope this post find you in good health. It's been raining for the past few days. Many places in Sabah are experiencing floods, landslides, damaged roads, and other natural disasters due to the continuous rain. I decided to just stay at home and not go anywhere. I don’t want to take any risks because our area has had mud floods, landslides on main roads, and major flooding before.
Today, the weather is a bit drier and hotter, but the ground is still muddy and damp. That didn’t stop me from cutting the grass using a short machete, which we call gagamas. I didn’t use a grass cutter because the grass had grown too long, and it was hard to see where the pineapples were. I didn’t want to accidentally cut them since they were growing well.
Cutting and pulling wild grass on muddy and slippery ground was tough, especially on slightly sloped areas. I had to kneel and pull the grass by hand to avoid slipping down the slope. On top of that, I wasn’t feeling well. I felt a bit dizzy, like I had an imbalance sensation, but I kept going and took it slow. The dizziness (numbness in my face and loss of balance) gradually faded as I worked, but it kept coming back. I’m not sure if it was actually going away or if my body was just getting used to it. If I let the discomfort and imbalance stop me, I wouldn’t get anything done—and I don’t want that. So, I just keep pushing forward.
