Like every Sunday, I took my small family to worship at our local church, about 1.5 km from home. Before leaving, we followed our usual morning routine ; having breakfast, doing laundry, and for me, washing the car. Once everything was done, we left for church and arrived before 9 a.m. This was earlier than usual for us, a small but meaningful improvement. Arriving early for service has been our goal every Sunday. Eiona wore her "Princess Anna" dress from her favourite movie, Frozen. Today, she added glasses and gloves, which she had picked out herself on Shopee last week. One day, she suddenly asked me to buy them, and I agreed since they weren’t expensive toys. The items arrived two days ago, and since then, she couldn’t wait to wear them to church. Maybe it’s natural for girls to want to dress up, and I’m okay with that. The challenge came when she kept taking off her gloves and asking me to help put them back on, again and again. Even during her Sunday school class, she kept them on despite not being fully comfortable with them yet.
After the Sunday service, around 11:30 a.m., we stopped by my father’s house, which isn’t far from the church. He had invited us to share a meal made from an animal my brother had hunted a few days ago. My brother wasn’t there, but I’m grateful to him for the delicious meat. At my father’s house, there’s also a massage chair that we all take turns using. One day, when I’ve saved enough money, I’d love to buy one, it’s a must-have for someone who works hard on a farm.
We got back home around 2 p.m. Rex and Rez, after showering, went straight to their study room to prepare for their exams starting tomorrow. I took the chance to clean the house ; rearranging furniture, tidying the kids’ bedroom, dusting the shelves, cleaning the ceiling fans, sweeping, taking out and burning the trash, and finally mopping the floors. I finished everything around 9 p.m. Time flew by so quickly that I didn’t even notice it was already night. There was heavy rain tonight, but it didn’t last long.
The food highlight of the day, apart from the meat, was fresh papaya picked that morning. After slicing it and chilling it in the fridge, the cold papaya tasted amazing! I could finish an entire fruit by myself. Luckily, the kids love it too. I hope they stay healthy throughout their exams. Rez, however, has a slight cough, which I hope will go away soon. He got it after playing football in the midday heat; despite his mom warning him not to, he insists on playing football. Hopefully, this cough teaches him to listen better next time. Overall, I feel really satisfied today. I managed to clean many parts of the house, especially the bookshelves. I hadn’t had the chance to clean them for a long time, so today’s progress gave me a real sense of accomplishment. I'm feeling really great!
