Gardening is a very enjoyable routine to do and talk about, how could it not be, this routine allows us to be one with nature every day, feel the soft soil without bare feet, small grass, wild flowers and several other things, even though gardening has become a routine We have been hereditary but in our view the routine of gardening is noble, with gardening we can contribute various types of food to humanity who live in non-agricultural environments, but in the modern era many things in agriculture have changed, for example some people have started to grow hydroponically which can be done in narrow spaces, and also some countries have desert gardening, it has become something amazing for human survival.

2023 will be the happiest year for me personally, throughout my life journey in 2023 I have planted various types of plants that are beneficial for me, my family and the people around me, some time ago I shared several types of common plants for spices kitchen, but today I want to share with you a type of plant that I have never shared before, and this plant is very important for chefs in our country because only with this plant can chefs create a delicious aroma in every dish they serve, even though this plant is simple but we need some tenacity to grow it, it is true that this plant is easy to grow in tropical climates but special attention is needed.

The first type of plant that you see in the picture is "Bay leaf" or known by the scientific name "Syzygium polyanthum" which is a type of plant whose leaves are taken to make the aroma of cooking. Through a long drying process these leaves can only be used for any In dishes such as "goat curry, soto, noodle soup and guri rice", apart from being used for the aroma of cooking, these leaves are also used in traditional medicine which functions to lower cholesterol levels by boiling the young leaves and drinking the water.

I planted these bay leaves last June, with sufficient fertilization and consistent spraying the bay leaf plants have grown well as you can see in the picture, and these leaves can be picked to dry and used in various types of dishes.

If above you have seen about "Syzygium polyanthum" which is very useful for fragrant cooking, but now you will find facts about other fragrant plants and are most widely used by our people for various types of food, this plant grows in damp and shady places, You must have a special place to plant this plant so that the leaves produced are quality and satisfying. This plant is very familiar to everyone because of its needs.

in our city this plant is known as "Pandan wangi" while in scientific language this plant has the name "Pandanus amaryllifolius" which is a type of plant that produces leaves for the aroma of food, usually the leaves of this plant are used to cook traditional style rice, it smells good boiled water, cendol, snacks and several other types of food that require a natural aroma, this plant is very often disturbed by pests because the aroma of the leaves radiates far away at night which can attract pests to it, so don't be surprised if you see the leaves Wangi pandan often has small holes in each leaf and this can be confirmed because it has been attacked by grasshoppers and caterpillars.

How to use fragrant pandan leaves is also quite simple, you only need to pick a few leaves then cut them into small pieces and add them to your cooking. The way to use these leaves is very different from bay leaves which require a long drying process, but for cendol you have to extract water. leaves, you just need to finely crush the pandan leaves and always squeeze the water in them, like you squeeze grated coconut, it's actually easy to do.

and this pandan leaf plant is 3 months old since planting;
