I Got 9 Xbox 360 Games

in Hive Gaming7 months ago (edited)

Today Aimee's dad went to a carboot sale with a mate of his, and he said he'd give me a shout if there are any games at it, (he knows I've been picking up bundles here and there.)

He rang and told me that they were going for €2.50 each, or three for €5 which is a decent price. He told me some of the list, and said he'd pick up 9 of them, which would work out as €15 - Not a bad price.

I was excited to see some of these titles, and assumed some would go for a nice amount individually.

I never played Resi 5, and only played a demo of Vegas 2, the others I used to own, and would like a chance to play them again before they sell.

Disappointed though, I saw that Black Ops actually had the wrong game inside, Formula 1.

Black Ops could sell for €10 - €12+, and sadly, Formula 1 sells for €3 or so, as disc only. The box for Black Ops, and the manual will fetch a price though, so it's okay.

All of the games have their manuals, and the boxes are in great condition.

Here's another few I picked up.

I have Gears 1, and that doesn't do well, however, selling that alongside 2 as a bundle may catch a better price, rather than selling separately.

I saw Gears 1, 2, 3, and Judgement as a bundle sold for €49 Euros recently, so it could be worth holding off to see if I can pick up the others in the series.

Everyone of them have their manuals, which is nice to see.

The discs are in really good shape too; no marks, or scratches. Some even seem to be un-played, leaving them in near mint condition. Sadly, World At War was missing.

One of the Battlefield discs have some bad cracks - most likely from it not being put in the slip case, and instead being forced into the single disc spindle.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is the same, sadly, because I was looking forward to playing that one.

Resident Evil 5 has the worst cracks.

Vegas 2, and Resi 5 both have boxes with solid spindles, and I assume the previous owner was just heavy handed resulting in the cracks.

I'll test them out and see if they work, but I marked the value down drastically due to their condition. It's such a shame, because the discs themselves have really been taken care of and are near mint otherwise.

I may sell these games as box, and manual only, and just throw the discs in as a kind of bonus, just incase they do work.

Pricing

Before getting into the nitty gritty of what I could potentially earn, I want to say that I set my prices lower than the average price. Black Ops 2 for example, I saw going for a high of €39, but I marked it off as €25 - €30.

I do this while calculating so I can not only get a realistic idea of earnings, but also, so I can see how much I could make with a lower asking price, which could stimulate faster sales.

All in all, it's just my pricing method, I like calculating in the low averages. I'm not looking to squeeze every last penny out of buyers, and I'm also not looking to hang onto items for years in order to do so.

I done some searching, and found that even without discs, I can still extract some value from this bundle.

I won't be listing the cracked discs until I can get onto an Xbox 360 and test them out, and take photos to prove they're working.

But, even if I just get rid of the discs, I could still sell the manuals and cases, which may actually be a safer option.

€84 Euro, for a bundle that cost €15 is really good. That's nearly 6x my money, and to be honest making €45 on this lot would still be a win.

The padded envelopes I bought were €30 for 100, so to package each item would be .30 cent, and ink for the shipping details is probably around .15 cent per item

Cost = €15
Packaging = €4.05
Potential Sale = €84
eBay Fee's €84 - 15% = €71.4 - €4.05 = €67.35

Total Potential Profit = €52.35 (Inc, Initial Cost = €67.35)

Now, eBay's fee's seem to be somewhere between 10% - 15%, so I just calculated based on the higher number. But, being up 52.35 after all is said and done, isn't too bad.

I can see the business is growing 🤑 funny what can start just as a jig turn into something bigger and with those margins 💰$15 > $84 thats a 5x right there, congrats ✌️, I hope we had something as big as Ebay down here, Panama is so small its hard to generate a good user base for online business to boom

It's early days yet, but the inventory is growing every few days. I'd like to start trimming some of the stock now and make a few bob from the sales, so I can put into some more stuff.

I said last time that I wasn't going to buy anymore, but I didn't want to pass up on a decent deal.

Reminds me of my childhood, when you really still bought CDs. But I was more of a Playstation or PC player, I never had an XBOX. 🙂

I had a PS1, and a 2, then got an Xbox 360, and made a bunch of friends on that, and eventually I got a PS3, but never really got into it as much as Xbox, because I didn't really know anyone on it.

@killerwot yes it is often a thing of "on what console are playing your mates".
