Battle For Middle-Earth 2

in Hive Gaming2 months ago

This was one of my favourite games back on the Xbox 360, and since I didn't think I'd have another Xbox 360 a few years ago, I decided to buy a copy of it for the PC.

I just want to say, CEX are such scumbags.

I've spoken with people about it, and they've said they're told to put the labels on the front cover of these games, even if they have soft outer covers.

For some people, something like this would automatically knock the price down. They're such hard labels to remove as well.

This was always such a good game to play, not only because I love RTS games, but also because I'm a big fan of LOTR.

The good thing with this, compared to a lot of movie/ tv show tie in games, is that it is actually very good.

The storyline is great, it added so many interesting elements that only passionate fans would think to add, from everything to locations, and battle maps, to certain heroes who never showed up in the movie, and among all else, the fact that they allowed you to play the good campaign - showing some other parts of the war that didn't revolve around the fellowship. However, you also have an alternative campaign where you can find out what would have happened if evil had persisted during the war.

The campaign is great and was always one of my favourite elements of the game itself. But, where I spent way more time was the skirmish mode, which allows you to battle it out against so many different factions, and you could even choose different pairings for team battles. Ever wonder what it would be like if Dwarves and Goblins actually settled their differences and took the fight to the elves? Now you can do it in this amazing game.

Lack of Skirmish Matches

I've played a few games where skirmish matches are basically non-existent, and I've always disliked that.

One example that comes to mind is Black and White 2, I never understood why there were no free-play/ skirmish missions like there were in Black and White 1. It adds so many more play hours onto a game because there's only so many times you can play through a campaign.

This is one game that I've always liked, and like most older titles, you need to find patches to run them on newer operating systems, finding the stuff to run this wasn't hard at all, however, and I was so happy to get back into it.

It's a shame there are no online matches anymore though.
