Shape of Mind by Krystman is a puzzle game for PICO-8 made for a Game by Its Cover Jam. This game was a relaxing experience, and it took me a bit to learn how to play but I loved it and would love to play it again.
The game is about matching the pieces of the main characters mind with the pieces that match them. When you collect enough matching pieces, you drop them on her mind to let her thoughts dance around. I love the presentation of Shape of Mind and the relaxing nature of it.
I hope I did a good job explaining it, but it's something you have to experience to understand. Watch my playthrough video for a better showcase of this simple PICO-8 game.
PICO-8 is a Fantasy Console designed to create, share and play small retro-inspired games. Games made for PICO-8 are constrained in aethistics, code and size to encourage creativity. PICO-8 comes with a built-in code editor, graphics, and sound tools. Games are distributed in image files called Cartridges. In this series of videos, I discover great games made on this Fantasy Console, letting you discover these games with me.
This playthrough was recorded on a Linux (PopOS) Laptop.
