Tumbleweed by Ericstone111 is an Arcade PICO-8 game in which you control a Sheriff and have to prevent Tumbleweed from cluttering the "wild west" town. The gane is pretty simple. You earn score points for the Tumbleweed you shoot, and when the screen becomes cluttered, (will happen eventually,) the game ends.
There's not much to say about Tumbleweed. I like the title screen on Splore and I appreciate the lore drop at the beginning. I also love that there are 24~ characters to choose from, though I don't believe the gameplay is any different if you change the character. Speaking of which, I wish the game had the option to change the player character between attempts.
When I lost the game, my score was way below the current Highest Score. That score owner is called "DEV." I'm not sure if it's the game developer or if that score isn't built-in or if it's updates online but it would be awesome if it was! What do you think?
PICO-8 is a Fantasy Console designed to create, share and play small retro-inspired games. Games made for PICO-8 are constrained in aethistics, code and size to encourage creativity. PICO-8 comes with a built-in code editor, graphics, and sound tools. Games are distributed in image files called Cartridges. In this series of videos, I discover great games made on this Fantasy Console, letting you discover these games with me.
This playthrough was recorded on a Linux (PopOS) Laptop.
