Very recently @silversaver888 published a post about some silver rounds produced by Scottsdale Mint that are meant to literally stack on top of each other. At the time I thought, wow, that is really cool, I'll have to make a point to buy some of those. But that's as far as I got and forgot completely about it.
That changed when I decided to pass by my favorite jewelry shop in Long Beach, California. I have know the owner for years and he buys silver and gold items and usually sends them all off the same day to the refinery to be melted. But he saves some coins or other things he thinks I might be interested in. When he pulled out his jewelry tray lo and behold there was a two Troy ounce lion stacker from the Scottsdale Mint. I almost couldn't believe my eyes!
He told me some fellow came in with it needing some quick cash. It tested pure silver so he bought it. I in turn bought it from him and it has a new home! Look at this beauty! Since I'm posting on #InLeo it's a perfect fit!
About the round
From numista.com
This thing is really thick, my camera setup isn't good to catch the sides so I borrowed a picture from Scottsdale Mint's website. You can see how thick they are and how they are meant to interlock and stack up like a silver tower!

Apparently they come in 100 grams and 5 troy ounces as well. I now think I am hooked, and I'm going to have to buy some more to make my own silver tower!
This was the last thing I expected to see there. I also picked up a couple coins that were pretty nice as well. There were a couple gold items that were way out my budget. Then he offered to sell me a Rolex he had bought recently, and it would only cost me $10K US, but that was way out of my budget! It was a really nice watch made of gold and diamonds! Maybe when Hive shoots to $50.... sigh...
Well that wraps up my adventures in Long Beach this weekend. I had meant to get down to the beach and get in a nice walk but it didn't happen this time!
Yesterday I mentioned that I had an update on my seedlings. The tomatoes have sprouted and I have them under the grow lights. They are looking really healthy so far and I'm looking forward to having a couple new varieties of tomatoes in the garden as well as in my new garden patch I created along the fence.
My peppers have yet to sprout which is okay, they tend to take a little longer to germinate in my experience. Hopefully some jalapenos will be popping up the in the next day or two! I also decided to grow a couple tomatillo plants and just got these planted.
These are great in salsa if you haven't ever tried them. They are also a key ingredient in chili verde which is a really good Mexican dish!
It's always fun to see the new plants starting to grow, and once they're big enough I'll transplant them outside.
That will just do it for today. I hope you enjoyed my really cool silver lion round from Scottsdale Mint and my garden update. Thanks for your support and taking the time to stop by and read my post. Have a great week everyone!
Keep on stacking!
