THE VILLAGE DIARY:
Our way to the coast led us to a partially destroyed former abbey.
We're not the only ones, and many pilgrims also go there for a celebration that takes place every year, so you could say we've got perfect timing.
We intend to take this opportunity to learn as much as we can about the area, and in particular where the nearest port is.
Some of us aren't interested in this celebration, preferring to rest and keep our carts, which we've set up as a camp some distance away.
So a small group of us headed for the abbey.
As we made our way up the path, we noticed that the pilgrims were beginning to undress and put on light, colorful clothes.
When we arrived in the courtyard, the ceremony in progress looked nothing like we'd imagined.
Half-naked pilgrims began dancing to the sound of intoxicating music, and hypnotic smoke filled the air.
We felt the gentle warmth, took off our clothes in turn, and let ourselves be carried away by the languid rhythms as we mingled with the crowd.
Our mission to inform gradually faded from our minds, but as I tried to rehydrate myself with a drink that only made me sink further into unconsciousness, I was able to talk to a sailor who did nothing but ramble on about a treasure map and his fruitless quest to find it.

LE JOURNAL DU VILLAGE:
Notre chemin vers la côte nous a mené à une ancienne abbaye partiellement détruite.
Nous ne sommes pas les seuls et de nombreux pèlerins s'y rendent aussi pour une célébration qui a lieu tous les ans, on peut dire que nous avons un timing parfait.
Nous avons l'intention d'en profiter pour en apprendre le plus possible sur cette région et en particulier où se trouve le port le plus proche.
Certains d'entre nous ne sont pas intéressés par cette célébration et préfèrent se reposer et garder nos charriots que nous avons installés en campement un peu à distance.
C'est donc un petit groupe d'entre nous qui s'est dirigé vers l'abbaye.
Lors de l'ascension du chemin, nous avons remarqué que les pèlerins commençaient à se déshabiller et à enfiler de légers vêtements très colorés.
Quand nous sommes arrivés dans la cour, la cérémonie en cours ne ressemblait pas du tout à ce que nous imaginions.
Les pèlerins à moitié nus se sont mis à danser au son d'une musique enivrante, et une fumée aux effets hypnotiques baignait les lieux.
Nou avons ressenti une douce chaleur et enlevé nos vêtements à notre tour, puis nous laissant entrainer par les rythmes languissants nous nous sommes mêlés à la foule.
Notre mission d'information s'est peu à peu effacée de nos esprits, mais alors que je tentais de me réhydrater avec une boisson qui ne m'a fait que sombrer un peu plus dans l'inconscience, j'ai pu parler à un marin qui n'a fait que divaguer au sujet d'une carte au trésor et de sa quête infructueuse pour le trouver.
