Welcome to the weekly Splinterlands Challenge post. The theme for Battle Mage Secrets is BRIAR PATCH. For those who want to participate in this challenge, you can do so by creating a battle with rules based on this week's theme.
So, why do we need to know the rules of fighting? Because knowing the ins and outs of the applicable regulations allows us to increase our chances of winning by playing the right cards.
If you see the Briar patch logo, as shown below, you are bound by the Briar patch rules.
As a result, to win, several key factors must be considered. If you can apply these rules, average cards can beat good cards. As long as it adheres to the Briar Patch rules.
- If you want to avoid the thorns' counterattack, which results in a loss of two health points, use monsters with magic and arrow attacks.
- Using a monster's melee attack triggers a spiked counterattack.
- The reflection shield ability reduces the thorn effect's damage. So, even if it is a melee attack monster, think about including one with this ability.
- Use summoners that reduce magic and arrow attack abilities because opponents may avoid melee monsters. Characters include Thaddius Brood, Quix the Devious, Bortus, Contessa Lament, and Mimosa Nightshade.
The mana cap for this fight was 48 points. With elements that everyone can use in battle. Players can now make more flexible choices. However, with the LITTLE LEAGUE rules, options are limited because monsters with low mana can be sent into battle.
The entire fight can be seen at the following link.
While the highlights of each round are shown below:
In the first round, the monsters attack each other in the direction of the tank monster. I prepared RIFTWING with the Scavenger skill, while the opponent set up FAILED SUMMONER with the Reflect magic skill. Of course, the magical attack will bounce back at my monster. However, my monster's arrow attack made things difficult for the opponent's monster.
The second round saw the successful elimination of FAILED SUMMONER. However, RIFTWING must leave the battlefield. The opponent's SPIRIT HOARDER transforms into a tank by relying on the three magic monsters behind it. The WHISTLING DAMON monster managed to activate the bloodlust skill.
In the third round, I had more monsters than my opponent. Arrow attacks continued to rain down on the opposing monsters. The shield bonus provided by the opponent's monster has been damaged by arrow strikes.
In round 4, despite your reliance on your opponent's monster's healing abilities, arrow attacks continued to erode your opponent's tank monster's health points. As a result, the healing skill was rendered useless, and I was able to win the battle.
In this battle, we've decided to use monsters that do not produce the thorn effect. Specifically, by not sending melee monsters. I only use magic and arrow attacks to defeat the monsters. The opposing monsters also rely on magic attacks, sending magic monsters and using tanks that can reflect magic attacks.
However, I was able to reduce the opponent's magic monster's attack power by using the summoner. This is my advantage. I rely on archer monsters not losing attack power. Aside from that, I sent monsters that provided shield bonuses.
And my strategy worked because magic and arrow attacks were effective in reducing the opponent's monster's health points. Aside from that, arrow attacks are effective at eliminating enemy monsters in the middle using snipe skills. And finally, I won this battle.
