CURSED WINDEKU: Unexpected Hero in SPLINTERLANDS | Social Media Challenge

in FreeComplimentslast month

Hello, SPLINTERLANDS warriors! How’s everyone feeling about the rise in HIVE and SPS prices? Are you more pumped up to battle or becoming more strategic with your investments?

Today, I want to share an epic match I just experienced, complete with the strategies and crucial moments that had my adrenaline pumping! Our main focus this time is on the defensive and healing abilities of CURSED WINDEKU, who turned out to be the savior of my team in the final moments.

At first, my expectations were simple: try out a strategy by placing CURSED WINDEKU in the back, in a position that’s usually not filled by a melee attacker. Typically, we place melee monsters at the front lines to fend off enemy attacks, but this time, I chose CURSED WINDEKU as the backline defender to counter enemy SNEAK attacks while ensuring my team’s endurance until the end.

As the battle began, I faced an opponent also using the summoner QUIX THE DEVIOUS, making the duel even more challenging! My team was mostly composed of melee monsters, suited to the AIM TRUE and LOST MAGIC ruleset, where melee attacks held the advantage without any summoner drawbacks in this fight. My hopes rested on DESERT DRAGON with its RETALIATE ability to strike back, as well as my SNEAK duo, DHAMPIR INFLATOR and URAEUS. In the middle row, I positioned RAVENHOOD WARDEN and BERIX SNAKEYE as ranged attackers, while CURSED WINDEKU sat at the back as the final shield with his HEALING ability.

The opponent’s lineup was strong: DJINN CHWALA, known for its THORN ability; CARNAGE TITAN with double attack; RUNI with a well-rounded skill set for tackling opponents; DHAMPIR INFLATOR and RAZORHOUND as sneaky intruders; and WAVE BROOD as a TAUNT monster, designed to split up my attacks. A tough battle awaited, but I felt optimistic that my team could put up a solid fight.

The match opened with URAEUS poisoning WAVE BROOD right off the bat. Meanwhile, CARNAGE TITAN’s attack was countered by DESERT DRAGON, striking back with RETALIATE. CURSED WINDEKU finally came into play when DHAMPIR INFLATOR approached, taking it down with his deadly THORN ability.

In the next round, the intensity rose. DJINN CHWALA, with its legendary THORN, took down DESERT DRAGON, and my own DHAMPIR INFLATOR had to retreat. CARNAGE TITAN and RUNI began to dominate, pushing my team to hold on with the remaining monsters. RAVENHOOD WARDEN and BERIX SNAKEYE faced mounting pressure, while CURSED WINDEKU remained steadfast at the back, my last hope.

Round three cranked up the tension even more. BERIX SNAKEYE was now in the front, unable to attack due to being a ranged unit, making him an easy target. CURSED WINDEKU kept receiving hits, yet with his strong HEALING ability, he endured while occasionally striking back. Surprisingly, this "passive" backline monster emerged as the team’s savior.

As we entered the final round, the opponent's strength seemed to wane. CURSED WINDEKU, healing himself continuously, managed to take down RUNI, marking a victorious moment for me. Seeing CURSED WINDEKU survive alone at the end showed that placing him at the back was an effective decision.

From this match, I learned that sometimes, unexpected strategies yield the best results. CURSED WINDEKU, though seemingly passive in the backline, ultimately became the key to victory. He proved that endurance and defense are just as vital as offense in SPLINTERLANDS. Another takeaway is to never hesitate to try new strategies—you never know, that could be the very thing that leads you to victory!
