BIBLE TEXT:
The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God (2 Corinthians 4:4).
MAJOR TRUTH:
There is no act without consequences. Just like the popular saying, "no smoke without fire". Yet, many people still engage in them, only for their eyes to open when the deed is already done.
THE MESSAGE:
Our world is full of men and women who see but are blind.
A blind man in this context is not hard to identify. He is that person who knows that a particular act will lead to his destruction, but still does it, and thereafter regrets taking such an action.
The Bible portion we read declares:
A thief knows that if he's caught he will be sentenced or killed. Yet, he goes ahead to commit the crime, only to cry and plead for mercy when caught.
When the devil is through with a man, he allows him to witness his own destruction.
A hardened criminal is only hardened until he's caught. Thereafter the hardness disappears and he begins to cry for mercy.
The only thing that can cure the blindness of men is an encounter with Jesus. Otherwise, men will continue to roam about in darkness.
When a criminal, prostitute, and one given to evil vices begins to see by the light of Jesus Christ, they'll turn a new leaf.
As believers, we have received a ministry which is to give men back their sight.
When it was over, the eyes of Judas and Samson were opened, and their destiny was quenched by the enemy.
Open my eyes oh Lord!
PRAYER:
Father, help me not to become spiritually blind to You and to the work of Your Kingdom, in Jesus' name - Amen.
