🎚 CENTRAL TRUTH:
Distraction if not swiftly handled will delay and derail you.

πŸ“– BIBLE TEXT:
Luke 9:46-56

πŸ”‘ KEY VERSE:

"Now it came to pass, when the time had come for Him to be received up, that he steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem" ( Luke 9:51).

πŸ–ŠοΈ COMMENTARY
As we journey to our destination, distractions are inevitable.
However, we must remain focused and remain resolute. The devil will design things to draw and pull us in other directions - a direction that leads us away from the plan of God.

Sometimes these distractions can be "good things," but they are not just the things God has planned for us. Also, when too many things compete for our time and attention, we must decide what things will get our attention and where we will devote our time.

We cannot simply give our time and attention to the things that scream the loudest, or we may miss the still small voice of the Holy Spirit.

From the above text, as Jesus had set out to go to Jerusalem, He ceased from engaging in any other thing than fulfilling his destiny;
Performing miracles, preaching and teaching were no longer his priority. In Mark 5:21-35, on his way to Jairus's house, the woman with the issue of blood interrupted his journey. But when it was time for him to go to Jerusalem to fulfill His assignment, even Peter's show of love and loyalty could not distract Him. The pain and shame of the cross did not perturb Him. He remained focused, (Hebrews 12:1).

The deductive principle from today's text, is having the ability to see and know that the glory of God will be revealed at the end of the journey. If you are to reach your highest potential, do not allow distractions packaged in pleasant or unpleasant forms to sway you off the goal. Feed your focus and starve your distractions; by staying focused on the goal. Deal with every excess logged, you don't need it, for time is of essence. The journey requires "we travel light." Hebrews 12:1.

πŸ™πŸΏ PRAYER
LORD_LORD, help me to follow Jesus' example because it is the same example that Paul followed and made it to glory.
