🖊️ COMMENTARY:

To comfort means to ease grief or distress. Some people think that the only time to comfort or encourage one another is when painful incidence such as the death of a loved one, loss of property or when one is sick. Such people are going too far if they think that such a time is the only time they need one another. If there is anytime we need to comfort each other, it is such a time as this, time when many people are becoming weak in faith due to hardship and persecution. People are becoming so selfish and self-centered.

In fact, this is the time believers need each other's support. Don't think the wealthy among us do not pass through times when they become emotionally low and will need to be encouraged. Sometimes, pastors also need to be encouraged just as members will need to be encouraged.

Sometimes the rich needs to be encouraged just as the poor will need to be encouraged. We all have obstacles to surmount on our way to heaven. As believers, we need to care about one another. We should be constantly reminding one another of the Lord's return and encouraging ourselves to run the race with patience. (Proverbs 27:17). This is very important so that none of us will be taken unawares. There are so many ways we can encourage one another.

Even the devil knows that when we come together as believers, it will be difficult for him to win the battle over our souls. Little wonder, the bible says that we should endeavor to be meeting together as believers. (Heb. 10:24,25). Fellowship promotes love and unity among believers. If there is anytime believers need to be coming together, it is this critical time.

Someone can be encouraged when we honour his/her invitation to programmes such as wedding ceremony, thanksgiving ceremony,
anniversary celebration, (funeral ceremony, graduation ceremony) etc.
