On a Duty in Jakarta

So this story is Happened in Jakarta, because I'm assigned to Jakarta as a replacement because my boss can't attend the event. The hotel is already prepared by the event holder, and it's located on the center of Jakarta. Since we got no Dinner package, I need to find my own, and so I try to go outside, looking for dinner. I ask the security about near fried rice seller, and guess what he said ? "There is fried rice in our hotel", I was like "really ? Ohh I just know that". Nope, just kidding. We all know the hotel had those expensive menu on them, and I'm totally broken right now that I had to sell my hive on a huge loss (I will talk about it later), so I just said to him that I want dinner outside the hotel.

Eating on Street Vendor

After walk for a minute, I found a street vendor that sell the fried rice. I know the price on this city is quite high, but at least the fried rice on street vendor should be affordable.

Here is the picture that I just took, it's my 2nd day in here and having dinner on this place again, just to see something that I saw yesterday and makes sure the situation is not an incidental event.

Here is what I saw, a little girl that sleeping outside, near her parent that are a street vendor. Her mother is the doing the cooking, while her father is handle the drink and cigarette. I feel so sad, because I had 2 sons, that are around her age. This little girl had to sleep outside, with air pollution from the car and motorcycle that is so busy passing the street. I don't even know if this little girl have a time to play, with a toys or maybe with her friends (I don't know when they open the vendor, is it from morning or evening). This picture is taken yesterday, because I want to share it with my wife. Today I go for dinner a little late, around 8 pm, and this little girl is sleeping again, but luckily now she got a blanket cover her. The price for the fried rice is around 1$, and I gave a bonus around 0.4$ said for the little girl's snack (I wish I could give more, but as I've told you, I'm on a bad financial situation).

Go Outside, Take a Look at the Surrounding

I don't often having dinner on the outside, and this event is reminds me that there is people that having a harder life than me. I should be more grateful, even on the situation where I feel hard, it might be the life that people dreaming of. There is people that are not as lucky as us, and if possible, please help those people in need. This might be the biggest point I've got from this journey, not the meeting, and I feel grateful that I have this experience
