Hello Buddy, We Meet Again Here On My post...

Welcome to my #Taco-Tuesdays post, this is my foodie post on #freecompliments community and although it is called TACO TUESDAYS, we are not talking about TACO only here. All food are welcome here, we would be glad if you are joining us sharing your foodie adventure or it's just a daily one... Anything goes here.

A few weeks ago I was in bad condition, which limited me to use my hand for writing and typing. What I share today here is something that happened in the past on those days. I tried to take some healthy food and I was having hard time to get anything interesting about them to share here.

The only thing that made me happy was eating Porridge and I have decided that would be my theme for today Taco-Tuesdays. STREET PORRIDGE!!!

Walk With Me A Bit, OK?

My condition was bad, I could not awake but when I stayed on bed too long I felt my body got stiffen. So once a while I forced myself to take some walks out from home, not too far only about 3-4 km (that's around 2 miles, right?) and treat that as a light exercise.

But today I would take some walk to find something I could eat for lunch and it was not too dirty and atleast have some good nutrition on it. Of course I am a stingy person so I would not seek some fancy places here, that time I needed to save some for medication anyway.

Ok let's walk with me a bit, shall we?

SOTO BOYOLALI

IMG20240728150712.jpg

The first place, which was nearest to the place where I stayed was this outlet, Soto Boyolali or some people called it Soto Seger Boyolali. Soto in english is Soup, so this is a chicken soup outlet, from Boyolali, a region in central Java. Javanese Chicken Soup if you want other vocabulary that is easier to digest.

Segerr is a slank from SEGAR, indonesian word for FRESH. So this is FRESH SOUP LoL. What we mean by soto segerr is that the soup was clear, not blurry or oily and it gives a refreshing taste.

It was a good choice to dine in there but I chose not. The parking lot was empty, look at there!! no bike at all and their banner was half pulled out. They did not maintain their place well, it looked like a run out one. So I decided to walk again looking for other places.

THE SUMATERAN CUISINE

IMG20240728150732.jpg

Not far from that run out place, there was this food outlet. Both of them were famous on their time. Let's talk from the first one, the one with name Masakan Padang.

I think I have shared a food from that place last year, That time the message I conveyed was do not throw away your name or your brand just because of online services. That outlet do not have names at all, because they heavily depend on Go-Food and Grab-Food, an online food service.

That one is a Padang Cuisine, they are spicy and use a lot of hot peppers and coconut milk. Padang is a region on western Sumatera, the left part of the left big island in Indonesia map. Some said Padang, some said it Minang, both have the same meaning. Oily and spicy, I should avoid this outlet that time, although their food was not bad.

The right one, MIE ACEH ABUE, it is a Mi goreng from Aceh region. Yes it is an Aceh Cuisine, I kind of like it but definitely I could not take it because they are full of spices with curry sauces.

Maybe oneday I will visit that Mie Aceh stall, as I have had an conversation with @gwajnberg about traditional fried noodle from Indonesia. Because Indonesian Noodle are adopted food from Chinese cuisine, majority of the taste are similar to Chinese noodle. However Mie Aceh has a distinctive difference in taste, but definitely bad for me who was not well that time.

Ok I skipped this couple of Sumateran Food Outlet. Not good for me now.

VERMICELLI SOUP

My next destination was that Vermicelli soup outlet, the food there were good and their had a very reasonable price. However I had to skip that place, because it was too crowded. Many car parked there.

In Indonesia if you are confused where to eat, people say just look at the parking lots. Seek the place which have most cars parked. Mostly this way works well, however recently some outlet ask people to park their car on their parking lot for free, to get more visitors LoL

Ok next one now.

STREET PORRIDGE OUTLET

IMG20240728153659.jpg

I got onto this place, I believed I had not visited them yet. I saw a car and a bike parked there, so I believed someone were inside so I thought ok... I visited this place, I could eat that porridge, its good for my health condition too.

THE OUTLET

Well I saw two table were filled and I sat on as the third table customer. The place was clean and neat, well I felt this one was a mixed concept outlet of porridge and Warung Indomie.

IMG20240728151140.jpg

Most of you might not know what is Warung Indomie. Warung means HUT, Indomie is the most famous Indonesian Instant Noodle. So Warung Indomie is an Instant Noodle hut, where their main menu is Instant noodle with some side dish such as beef cornet, eggs or crips.

All Warung Indomie do not just sell one menu, they have Roti Bakar (toast) and bubur kacang ijo. Wonder what is bubur kacang ijo? it is mung bean porridge. And they have a section of instant coffee shop too, it was cool in the past but right now only poor people buy it.

IMG20240728151145.jpg

That's how it look, you can see some type of instant noodle there, from fried one to a soup one, and they have several favours you can choose. and on the right part you can see a bunch of instant coffee and instant milk you can choose. Behind that counter they have pan and grill to make toast and the Mung bean Porridge. You can order half boiled egg too here.

There were some street buskers coming frequently here, so it might not be suitable for people who dislike noisy place. That's my minus point for this place.

MY PORRIDGE

IMG20240728151343.jpg

My order was simple, A chicken porridge as my meal and I ordered an instant coffee mix for my drink. The good part when you are dining in on Warung Indomie is that you can ask a free flow of water.

IMG20240728151308.jpg

So Initially I had like this then I had a glass of water. Of course it was a free one, free flow too.

Anyway this meal and drink cost me 18.000 Rupiah, or it was arond 1.1 US Dollar. It was a fair place regarding as a small outlet they managed to keep their place very neat.

The taste? I could not comment about it, I was in bad condition remember? Everything tasted bitter for me those days. However I was sure it was an OK regarding they always have some customer inside. That place opens for 24 hours.

Ok, That's all for my Taco Tuesdays post today. Thank you for reading my post and feel free to leave any comments below as you please.
