We have TACO TUESDAYS time now!!!
Today Edition, I would share something that is far different with I have shared before. It's not an Indonesian Food / dish and it is also not an Asian original food either. I do not know where it comes from for sure, but most references from Google said that initially it was an American Style bread fast.
It is Ham and Egg dish... My family from Japan often said this as Ham Egg. This time it is not a food that I have bought or ordered from stores and outlets, but I made this dish myself.
I have tried to record and photo take some images during the cooking, but they are all messed up. Most of the shots I have taken, I could not get the correct focus. Maybe due to the bad lighting and let's be straight forward here... My camera phone is not the great one.
So I have decided to share you guys a youtube that is similar to my Ham and Egg dish
As for you guys who haven't got familiar with ham and egg, there are many ways to make Ham and Egg dishes, because everyone has their own style. Some like to make it as a big omelette with many fillings inside with the ham. Some like to make it with scrambled egg. Some even like to scrambled both the ham and the egg, making it looks like a fried rice or maybe a sandwich.
My favorite form is making a sunny side up. That's why I see the youtube video has the most similar way to cook this dish.
My Ham and Egg ~ Sunny Side Up
OK here is my Ham and Egg with Sunny Side Up style dish.
I cooked the ham first, of course with small heat so I would not accidentally burned the ham or made it dried from overcooked. Within seconds, I poured in the eggs. I use two eggs for two slices of ham.
As you can see, there is a ham below and it is not overcooked nor burnt. I admit I use wrong ratio, I should have 3 slices of ham instead of 2 slices. The ham I use here is smaller than the Ham I used to cook.
The egg yolk is not dried, it is a half cook sunny side up. I use omega eggs because I like the colors, oranges or yellow with bit red. I do not use ordinary eggs because here in Indonesia, most egg are very yellow.
And that's all my presentation for my Sunny Side Up Ham and Egg today, and before I close it, I would add some points here:
- The ham I use is a cow meat, so it is halal or kosher. If pork is not an issue for you, I recommend using use bacon and pork salami as the ham replacement. They will bring different experience for you
- Even you have made this dish before, different ham would give different taste. whether they are fresh, cured or smoked one. So changing hams is a good idea to make you not bored with this dish.
- If you never make this dish, please notice that HAM is already salty, so don't put more salt in your eggs first.
- You can add more side dish to make your plate merrier, such as french fries, or boiled veggetables.
- I let people leave comments below, because I know some of you guys are better cook and better foodies than me 👌
Well That's for my Taco Tuesday today, Thank you for coming and reading my post here
