Greeting Everyone
Welcome to my weekly Splinterlands post. In this opportunity I would like to share my last Brawl Result which was pretty much good and I like it.
I won 3 from my 7 battles, and I believed that number was great. I took fray 24, which was a Gold Foil Diamond League, one of the hardest and most people chose to avoid it. I wanted to avoid it too but that's the available fray on my Guild.
Anyway my guild is T&A LEGION 1. Yes it is Time and Attention, a guild founded by our famous streamer, Dwayne Cunningham. We play at the highest tier, Tier 5, however we are not the best on that tier.
We got rank 6 from 8 participants, so at least we were not at the bottom. Playing at Tier 5 is hard and very challenging. That's why we strive to improve ourselves day by day so we can get better, get more Splinterlands cards and hopefully oneday we can compete with the superior OG such as Summoner Tribe and YGG.
We know we are still far from them, but wish us luck!!!
HIGHLIGHTED BATTLE ~ Old School Seamonster
So here is our selected battle. I do not have max level gold foil, in fact most of my cards are on Silver League Level Cap. In order to get good result like I have got in last brawl, I must not lose any single battle when my opponent come without max level.
What if they come with max level? I can only pray RNG on my side, most Gold Foil players on Tier 5 are monstrous players, so don't expect they will be slacking of clumsily slipping off in their brawl.
So my opponent is @photohunt (sorry for tagging you bro, it's for content), and the funny thing is that he and I use the same meta. The difference are on these two:
- They have Kulu Masterminds, and I do not have him so I use deeplurker
- Our tank are different. He uses Gelatinous Cube and I use Seamonster.
In the end they have better backline unit, I believe I have the right tank to counter their Melee Meta.
Ok let's see how this would go
- The battle started with both side buffing their team and debuffing their opponent.
- They came with 17 Melee damage per round. It's a great firepower regading we had a 4 units limitation.
- My team had 18 Melee damage per round. Almost similar with their strength.
- Overall I believe I won this battle from this point. My team was faster and I had that Thorn Ability on Sea Monster that would create a gap in longer period.
- nobody died in the first round. Armors are everywhere, so It was not easy for any melee damage to kill the target.
- However things were different in this round regarding those armors had worn off.
- Round 3 started with 2 vs 4 condition, my team had twice the number of their units. However their last 2 units were ridiculously sturdy. I was sure my 17 melee damage per round would not be enough to wipe them in this round.
- Round 4 started with the same condition, as I predicted before, it's not that easy to wipe them out even though they could not make any comeback move to turn the table.
- In this round, we finally closed the battle. It was a perfect victory, because all of my units were on max health point.
REMEMBRANCE OF SEA MONSTER
There were great times when Sea Monsters ran amok and ruled many battles. But those days were over when Newer Water Element tanks gained popularity and surpassed sea monster in term of favorability. Which one stronger, which one better, all are subjective, however undeniable nowadays we rarely see sea monster on the line up.
Sea monster is my favorite due to that reason. I do not have many selections and all of them are not leveled max. So in order to win more on Brawl, especially on the highest tier and highest level of Gold Foil, most of the time I need an Element of Surprise and this Sea Monster fits that spot perfectly.
It is not the strongest for sure, not the top 3 best selection for 8 mana cap tank, however it is no lesser than those top 3 and our opponent will most likely less anticipated against Sea Monster.
So what do you think about Sea Monster? Do you think the same with me, a good card but not for best options? Or maybe you think this card deserve more on the spotlight again?
