FITNESS FRIDAYS: The Walk Challenge

Hello all,

Welcome to my FITNESS FRIDAYS post here, a Friday Theme post in Free Compliments community... And of course the same as the title, Today post is about my Walk Challenge. Everyweek we have a new challenge and next week we will share our Lunge Challenge...

As I have said in my last Fitness Fridays, I could not do the challenge for the first day. Because it's already late that day. For example today, I left home to work from 6:30 AM and I just arrived home at 22:40 PM. So walking outside around midnite was not a challenge but more like a weird thing to do that day.

Day 2 of The Walk Challenge

I had prepared everything for the 2nd day of the walk challenge. Well actually it was my first day anyway, on Saturday 27 April. I wore my adidas lite runner and brought a foldable walking stick. I had that stick for emergency, incase my body balance got crumbled again so I did not have to craw back to my house.

I walked around about a block near my house, but not on my house neighborhood. It took around 5 minutes to get that place.

Day 3 of The Walk Challenge

Both of the sol fell off when I walked on the second round. I had to walk back to my house with holding the sol on my hand. I was used to walk with bared foot so although for some people it was painful to walk on the asphalt road, however I did not feel so.

I had to wear my old Sketcher this time forward... Until I glued my Adidas back LoL Damn I am so stingy

Day 4 of The Walk Challenge

I had not glued my Adidas, and even until today I am writing this post... I haven't done it yet.

On the 4th day, I walked 3 round on the same block again... Anyway how long is a block here?

I tried to measure with STRAVA, and it counted the distance asa 0,89 km. Actually it should be around 0,65km, I walked 200 meters more because I wanted to take some shots on some nearby objects. It explained why my moving time was a long one for that short distance.

The block I chose was not an elite housing region, but it is one of the better one on the neighborhood. The road and alley was pretty wide, there were many big trees there and it was not a crowded area.

Day 5 of The Walk Challenge

I needed to visit my client and I knew it would be a long walk from the park area to their office.

It was around 1 km from the parking area to their office, because if I parked on their office, I would get fine by the traffic policeman. The area had some license plate regulation and I was not eligible for that place on that day.

I had to park on one of the biggest mall in central Jakarta, then took a long walk to their office building.

I had to take some short cut through small alleys, and most of the alleys were used as an illegal motorcycle parking slots by local gangsters people. Many employees parked their bike there and paid for a lot cheaper protection parking fee.

Overall it was about 3km walking, because I had to walk back to the parking area in that mall. I did not count the distance from the car to the outside mall, and during on my client building.

Day 6 of The Walk Challenge

On the sixth day, or Thursday, or yesterday, I walked again on the block I had chosen before, the same block as the previous days.

It was around 17:00 pm so it's a bit darker and the rain just stopped. Anyway I did not bring my walking stick anymore, it looked like my body balance was recovered.

It was more 5 rounds, I could not count exactly because I was drawn in some phone calls. Maybe 7?

Day 7 of The Walk Challenge

The last day, which was today and I took this measurement, again through STRAVA, earlier this noon.

It was 4km walk for 50 minutes, and 17m elevation gain. Ok I will be honest here, it should be more 5km today, and it was not 17m.

I was on construction site today, and I walked around the building from basement to the utility on upper zone, its on roof but not the highest rooftop there... It was only on 27th floor or around 90 meters. The elevation gain should be more than 100 meters.

I took a break for some minutes and took that picture. You could see me there, I was not wearing my safety helmet there, because I put it down near the stair. It was an open space, and even if something happened, let say, I fell of the building... I would die anyway.

Earlier I was thinking about making that photo for Reflection Hunter contest on hive, but I chose to cancel it... I believed it was not good enough for photo contest, and I would not like reveal where it was.

Anyway that's my walking challenge for today #Fitness-Fridays. It was not well organized this time, but I managed to complete this anyway.

I just finished my lunges one set of 5 repetition... 5 when my left foot on front, and 5 when my right foot on front. It was not easy, maybe because I already tired from today activity.

Anyway if you want to join, let's join in whenever you are ready!!! There is no strict rule here, it doesn't have to be from Friday to Friday, the point is not the rule... What matters most is the excitement and joy of working out. Let's share in that happiness!

You are walking from here to there a lot, it seems. Any particular reason not to use our @actifit app to tract the steps as well?

I have an actifit account. My problem is the d.app tends to shut down don't know how and when, while I rlam running it on minimize

Another reason is that I want to move the user into another hive account, so I can update daily... But don't know how to do it .. silly me lol

The actifit team is pretty helpful and cooperative. They can sort out the problem I hope.

Nice exercise. The whole Adidas falling apart sucks, but some rubber cement works wonders. I try to fix shoes too, they aren't cheap! Way to go on getting into better shape, it a great thing to do!
