Welcome to the Art & 3D series where I share a cool artwork that I print and talk about every Monday.
In this one I talk about failures and share one, So sometimes I run into issues making stuff for the series and the print doesn't come out great or the supports are too hard to take off or as I take off the support I brake the print.
This one has to be the worst it's the longest print and it also the most filament I used on a print, more on this in The print section bellow

The Art
(1)
Right above is a picture of a replica that the scan and print is based on, it's a beautiful piece called the Sutton Hoo helmet, it was found in a burial sight it's theorized that this helmet also served a dual purpose as a crown. I think it's a beautiful piece.
The Print
Like I mentioned above this is the longest print to date and took more than 3 days it started out great but close to the end it started to shift and the top part is distorted.
It seems it may have been too heavy and I should have used a slower acceleration to prevent this,
Really a shame as I used up almost 2 kilo grams of plastic and until that point it came out great.
I had to scale it up a fair bit so that I can actually wear it it seems I over shot it a bit but it has to be larger than the original for this because unlike the original it's a solid piece and doesn't have flaps, I may give it another shot in the future and make it a little smaller.
User input
If you would like me to print a specific piece be sure to let me know in the comments and maybe I will get around to printing it for this series.
