Welcome in this post I share a little project I was working on, 3D printed qr codes!
I have a printer that can do 2 materials at once(different colors if you like) but it is not working at the moments so I used my other printers for this, I just had to stop and change the filament to be able to lay down 2 different colors.
I made the design from scratch with an easy to use 3d modeling software that is free and can be used right in your web browser called tinker cad it's very easy to learn and even little kids can use it.
It took me a few tries and it didn't come out super clean but It works, if you scan the picture above you will be taken to my hive profile page on peakd.
Like I mentioned above I had to try a few times, the one right above came out a lot cleaner but it's too small the qr code didn't scan you can see a Canadian dime next to for a size reference
I also designed a stand that hold the qr code card on a slight angle making nice to display.
All together the design took no more than 5 minutes to make, and the print for the stand and qr card took about 2 hours, I am happy it worked it's nice to be able to do this, could be fairly useful.
