Good evening folks, and welcome to another episode of the wonderful coins I picked up on a recent trip to an Antique shop.
This little chubby cutie is the 10 Yuan 1oz silver coin from the People's Republic of China.
An adorable Panda!
He's just so cute and cuddly-looking that I couldn't resist buying him when I saw him in the cabinet.
The obverse of the coin: The Temple of Heaven
Year: 2015
Value: 10 Yuan
Currency: Second Renminbi
Silver: .999
Weight: 31.1grams
Diameter: 40mm
Thickness: 2.98mm
It's a lovely-looking coin that I have had my eye on for such a long time, and I am glad I finally managed to get one for a reasonable price. £28.50 is what I paid for it, which feels a bit on the steep side, considering on the day spot was around £23.25 ish. It is most definitely worth it for me though as it's easily one of the nicest coins in my collection now.
Also thanks to the SGS Discord I also found out it is a highly faked coin, so rigorous testing was used to make sure this little guy was legit.
Luckily it looks like he's one of the good guys.e
