A Kookaburra Just Landed In My Stack

Hey folks, thanks for dropping by.

I recently went on a shopping trip for some more silver to add to the collection. I happened across a respected seller, selling a fine assortment of 1 oz coins, among other bits.
Sadly I had to get my wallet out and bought a few to add to my stack!

Here is the first one from the buy: a 2015 1oz Kookaburra coin from the series celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Australian Kookaburra Bullion series.
It's a good-looking bird for sure.

The obverse of the coin: Queen Elizabeth II in a rather Elegant Tiara
Year: 2015
Value: 1 Dollar
Currency: Dollar
Silver: .999
Weight: 31.1035 grams
Diameter: 40.6 mm
Thickness: 3.5 mm

A Kookaburra sat on a tree stump, this is one hell of a nice looking coin, also very shiny. Many attempts were needed to get a fairly clear picture of both sides. It's a hard coin to photograph.

Numista helped get me the weight measurement as my scale doesn't go to that many exact decimal places.
After extensive testing with my little box of fun testing equipment, this lil guy passed with flying colours.

25th year, I got so many different coins but think I have the first year 1990 Kook somewhere in one of my hiding places, this years edition will make it 35 years and it would be interesting to see what the Australian mints comes up with.

Th real story behind the coin is this was gifted, not purchased but given to me by my Mentor who taught me personal finances and started me Stacking. And he bought it for $8 CAD at a coin show long before I started Stacking.
