Should go Ingots, or coins ?

Greetings Stackers,

I have a new question for you, to help me select my next targets...

Question of choice ?

I must admit, I always have some hesitations when I need to select my next investment opportunity.

Look at those two. I like both of them, but I am not sure what I should do:

THe 20 Belgian Francs 90% Gold

The 5 Gram ingot 99% Gold

Almost same price, but I really do ask myself which one would be better in my collection.

Should I trust the "collection" value of the coin, or should I trust the "metal" value ?

The sage would say to take them both, each one on time when I can afford them and build to piles.
But I would like to ask #silvergoldstackers community for their advices.

If I do not have replies to this post, I think I will go for the "sage" advice. Unless the community points me to much better opportunities. Remember I go Gold by preference as we do not pay VAT on gold, while we do on Silver (ingots).

I'd go with the bar. Lower premium, higher purity and easier resale.

That said, I have more coins than bars in my stack. I guess my preferences change.

Si j'avais le chois je dirais de prendre le lingo , sur fiable , mais la pièce à en effet l'effet collection , si certaine s'égard les autres prennent de la valeurs ( ou pire y'as toujours l'or dans la pièce ) perso si j'avais les moyen je prendrais des florin en or toujours recherché mais trop chère pour ma bourses actuelle qui est plus en cuir que en or ou argent

Same price but does the coin contain 5 grams of 99.9 gold in total or more if so then it's an easy choice , coin all day everyday aside from that smart stacking buy for the metal content the rest is a potential bonus. !DOOK !BBH !hiqvote

It all depends on the premiums!! Numismatic coins are worse then gram bars. But gold bullion has less premiums compared to gram bars.

Personally, when it comes to Gold, it's strictly Wealth preservation first as a priority over collect-ability or numismatics. When I just starting, I was trying to accumulate 1/4 gold Maple coins for affordability and legal tender status. It's the backbone of my total stack. I keep the collecting in silver.
