The Influence Of Social Media In Our Lives

in Ecency Support6 months ago (edited)

Once upon a time, the world was in total darkness. Boom, all of a sudden, light broke out, and there were a lot of social media handles here and there, which had become deeply intertwined with our modern lives, shaping and showing us new ways on how we communicate, see the world around us, and also the information we consume.

I am not really the social media type; I really get tired easily surfing the Internet. I have different social media handles, but I can't remember the password for most of them. Chatting is one of my weaknesses; I only chat with someone when I am mandated to.

But somehow, I think social media has had a profound influence on my life. I have been able to reconnect and communicate with some friends and families across the globe through platforms like Facebook, breaking down geographical barriers.

There are some pieces of information that, if not for social media, I would not be able to access. I was able to have access to meaningful news, updates, scholarships, educational resources on a wide range of topics, job openings, and so on.

I have also met people, though not physically, who have influenced my life positively on different platforms. Their podcast, sermons, messages, and posts have enhanced my life and transformed my mindset. I might never get to meet these people physically, but I am glad I came across their platforms.

Social media is not just a gift but a huge blessing to this dispensation, and I am glad to have been born at such a time. Social media is a vast island with enormous possibilities when harnessed properly. I know there are downsides to this wonderful platform, such as its addictive nature and unnecessary exposure to systems and ideologies you may not be ready for or prepared for, among others. However, if we can look beyond the seeming challenges, there lies within social media an untapped reservoir of infinite possibilities the world has never known yet.

That's true social media has been a blessing but some has abused it.

Yes, a lot of people have abused the use of social media, but amidst it, it's still a blessing to some.
