RE: Technology Shaping Our Future

in Ecency Support9 months ago

Great insights into the role of technology in our cultures. The changes in the past couple of decades have been phenomenal, as you highlight. I think wearable technology is eventually going to make laptops and tablets less necessary than they are today. Apple's Vision Pro is a crude example. Once these Mixed Reality technologies mature, watch out 😎

Excellent and thoughtful article!

Oh, wearable tech is something I didn't really consider while writing this.

You should enter something for this prompt too, I'd be interested in reading more of your thoughts on the subject.

Yeah, that's the thing, man, seeing how far we've come in even just the last 15 years is insane. I think of 2007-2010, things like YouTube were still in their infancy, but to access them kinds of sites it was more of a conscious effort, using a pc, or whatever. I remember being on holiday accessing Facebook through a pay-as-you-go computer in the hotel lobby, now it's right there on our phones no matter where we go (not that I use FB anymore)

This topic makes my head explode. I think you allude to an important point, and that is, technological breakthroughs are accelerating. It used take thousands of years for a major scientific-technological breakthroughs, then hundreds, decades, and now we're seeing them on a monthly basis. It's wild.
