Hello everybody in the splinterlands community and to all members of hive. This is my entry to the splinterlands battle mage challenge for this week.
Ruleset and Its Meaning
This ruleset is Going the distance which means monsters with range attacks only may be used in this battle.
This other ruleset is the Taking sides which means all neutral monsters may not be used in this battle
This last ruleset is the Close range which means range cards may attack in first position in this battle.
Summoner and Team Choices
I chose this fire summoner, to give my cards the piercing ability.

My Opponent's team selection
My opponent chose this water summoner which gave the cards +1 speed and +1 shield.

Round 1
As soon as the battle began, my opponent had the +1 speed and shield applied to the cards and my cards had the piercing ability added to my cards. We attacked each other and at the end of round 1, my opponent's first card had a health of 10 and my first card had a health of 5.
Round 2
After the third attack from my opponent, my first card died. Luckily for me, my last card had the last stand ability. It gained +2 ranged attack and its health increased to 14.
Round 3
Round 3 did not last long and after the 4th attack from my card, my opponent's first card was no more.
Round 4
My opponent left with 1 card like gave me a hard time leaving my health at 6 at the end of the round. Just before the end of the round, my card reduced my opponent's health to 1.
Round 5
My opponent gave me a scare taking my health to 2. Luckily, I managed to attack with 5 range and won this battle.
