Hi splinterlands community, this is my entry to the battle mage secrets challenge for this week. This week's challenge is writing about a battle where the briar patch ruleset was used.
Ruleset and Its Meaning
The ruleset for the battle is Briar patch which gives all monsters the thorns ability. It means that when a card is hit with a melee attack, the card does 2 melee damage back to the attacker.
Summoner and Team Choices
I chose this life summoner to grant my cards +1 ranged attack.

My enemy selected this life summoner which gave all its cards +1 shield and the ability to use one additional gladiator card.

Round 1
When I saw my opponent's cards and read the stats on Captain Katie, I kind of knew I would lose this battle.
My opponent attacked first with its third and second cards after reducing the speed of my cards. Captain Katie attacked my second card, reduced its health to 1 and my second card attacked my opponent's second card. My last card healed my first card and missed its attack.
Round 2
My enemy's second and third cards attacked my first card and my opponent's gladiator card killed my second card. It bloodlusted and gained + on the stats. My last card healed my first card and again, missed its attack.
Round 3
My oppomemt's third card attacked my first card and my opponent killed my last card with Captain Katie. Again, it bloodlusted and gained +1 on the stats. The second card of my opponent attacked my first card and I killed my opponent's first card.
Round 4
My opponent's Captain Katie killed me and I lost the battle.
