Tattoos have much significance according to the inhabitants, and believe among the people who share the worth and values of the tattoo, what it stands for them and its importance.

The people of Edo, State, who are assumed from the Yoruba conquest and had similar culture, have its tattoos that distinguish them from the Yoruba people. And create their own image in the society, and today I'll be talking about that tattoo.

Iwu, is a very significant Tattoo of the Edo people, this tattoo is basically drawn on different parts of the body depending on who wears the tattoos.

The Edo people believe in culture, and they allow their culture to define them according to class and Iwu tattoos is one of those significant tattoos that is basically own drawn on the body by Edo people only.

Iwu is a very scenario mark, which is important, classified by gender, class, and many other Just as the many western tattoos buys it meaning to the culture, and it signifies identification.

Some of these identification are:

1). Adulthood

The Edo people, Iwu or tattoo mark, identify adulthood, when a child clocks the age of sixteen and begins to assume the responsibility of life, across parents' care, the child is drawn the Iwu tattoos on their body.

It is to prove that the adult has been satisfied by the culture, tradition and understands the laws of the land. Its marks a new beginning for adult.

2). Salvation

Iwu tattoos, are drawn on the body of an adult which signifies salvation. It is a tattoo that show that every adult in Edo State, has fought and conquer wars. And are covered by the salvation, and defeat there ancestors fought for them.

3). Mark for cure.

Iwu tattoos are believed by the Edo people, that many who wear tattoos are protected from illness, spiritual attacks and all sorts of infectory attacks. This tattoo signifies healing, to which many have testifying of it spiritual protections.

We live in the world of spirituality, place people have different beliefs, towards something, from my travelogue, over the years to the city of Bene the capital of Edo State. I understand that what people believe is what works for them.

No matter how we tend to dispute the fact, it holds that we doubt and fear the things we don't know, that's the fear of the unknown.

I love tattoos, even though, I don't wear them, to me, I don't see anything wrong with it. Everything stands for something, what matters is its impact on the people's beliefs, well-being and how they value it.

3). Iwu tattoos signifies Marital status.

Iwu is drawn on the body of a young maiden, and young men who have rich the age of marriage. The difference between adults Iwu tattoos and marital tattoos is that it is drawn in different parts of the
body.

For a marital maturity, Iwu tattoos is drawn on the upper shoulders, and the belly of the adult. While for adulthood, it is drawn on the upper shoulders.

How you view the background of something, and what it holds value for is what matters.

4). Marks royalty

Iwu tattoos makes rayalty. People from the royal family, such as the prince and his family a wear the Iwu tattoos. Their is six in numbers, on the stomach. While other members of the kindom carries seven. While the everty other titles man, ta in the kingdom wear only three.

This three symbolize that they are title men, and our honored by the gods and kindom.

El pueblo Edo, Iwu o marca de tatuaje, identifica la adultez, cuando un niño llega a la edad de dieciséis años y comienza a asumir la responsabilidad de la vida, a través del cuidado de los padres, el niño se dibuja los tatuajes Iwu en su cuerpo.

Es para demostrar que el adulto se ha sentido satisfecho con la cultura, la tradición y entiende las leyes de la tierra. Marca un nuevo comienzo para el adulto.

2). Salvación

Los tatuajes Iwu se dibujan en el cuerpo de un adulto y significan salvación. Es un tatuaje que muestra que cada adulto en el estado de Edo ha luchado y conquistado guerras. Y están cubiertos por la salvación, y la derrota que sus antepasados lucharon por ellos.
