hello everyone, today I have an insect discovery that will be shared with all of you, this is Riptortus linearis or also known as the "bean bug" which is an insect commonly found in tropical and subtropical areas, especially in Southeast Asia, this insect is common found in wild legumes.

This insect has a bright brown color with a distinctive straight line pattern on its body, this insect belongs to the coreidae family which includes insects that generally have a long body shape with strong males.

Riptortus linearis can be an important pest on legume plants because this insect will suck flower juice and fluids from legume seeds, as a result, this insect can cause damage to plants and reduce the number of seeds. So far, research on Riptortus linearis is also continuing. to develop effective and environmentally friendly control strategies.

Apart from being a pest for legume plants, Riptortus linearis has also attracted the attention of researchers and scientists because Riptortus linearis has a symbiotic relationship with bacteria in the genus Burkholderia. provides protection against pathogens.
