Greetings friends who love handicrafts! Welcome once again to my DC DIY Workshop a special corner for handicrafts. Today I share with you a very special work, since I made some simple Christmas cookies for the children of the community of Táriba. Join me to see the creative process.

Hoy les comparto un trabajo muy especial, ya que, elaboré unos sencillos cotillones navideños destinados a los niños de la comunidad de Táriba. Acompáñenme a ver el proceso creativo.

I contacted the organizer of the Three Kings Day celebration and asked her how many children we have. She counted families and children under 12 years old for a total of 20 children.

As they had no gifts or activities for them, I decided to make some cotillions to fill them with candy and give them a special handmade detail to these little ones who fill our streets with laughter and joy.

It occurred to me, as there are 20 of them, to do something simple with a Christmas theme, so I made several designs: Snowman, Santa, Christmas tree and Reindeer.

Me puse en contacto con la organizadora de la celebración del día de los reyes magos y le pregunté cuando niños tenemos. Ella contó las familias y los niños menores de 12 años para un total de 20 niños.

Como no tenían regalos ni actividades para ellos, decidí hacer unos cotillones para rellenarlos de caramelos y darles un detalle especial hecho a mano a estos pequeños que llenan de risas y algarabía nuestras calles.

Se me ocurrió, como son 20, hacer algo sencillo con la temática navideña, así que hice varios diseños: Muñeco de nieve, Santa, árbol de navidad y Reno.

Materials:

20 sheets of Bond paper letter type
Cellophane paper in red, green and yellow colors
Watercolors
Brush markers
Silicone stick
Pencil
Scissors
Watercolors

Materiales:

20 hojas de papel Bond tipo carta
Papel celofán de colores rojo, verde y amarillo
Acuarelas

Elaboration process:

-I started by folding a sheet in half. This way I could have 2 equal pieces and make a kind of bag.

Proceso de elaboración:

-Comencé doblando una hoja a la mitad. Así podría tener 2 piezas iguales y hacer una especie de bolsa.

-I drew a Christmas figure. I started with a reindeer. And with the compass, I made a circle in the center of the sheet and starting from that mark I made the body and head of the first character: the Reindeer.

-I cut out the center and painted the reindeer with watercolor.

-Dibujé una figura navideña. Comencé por un reno. Y con el compás, hice un círculo en el centro de la hoja y partiendo de esa marca hice el cuerpo y la cabeza del primer personaje: el Reno.

-Recorté el centro y pinté el Reno con acuarela.

-Then with the markers I made some details like the nose, eyes and borders. I cut out the Reindeer leaving a centimeter of white border in the 2 parts of the sheet.

-Luego con los marcadores hice algunos detalles como la nariz, ojos y los bordes. Recorté el Reno dejando un centímetro de borde blanco en las 2 partes de la hoja.

-I cut out a circle in cellophane paper and glued it with the silicone on the inside of the reindeer circle. I also glued the bottom part with the back of the blank sheet, leaving the head part open to place the candy inside.

-Recorté un círculo en papel celofán y lo pegué con la silicona del lado de adentro del círculo del Reno. También pegué la parte de abajo con la parte de atrás de la hoja en blanco, dejando la parte de la cabeza abierta para colocar adentro los dulces.

-I made 5 of each, alternating the colors of the details such as scarves and gloves and the color of the cellophane paper.

-Hice 5 de cada uno, alternando los colores de los detalles como las bufandas y los guantes y el color del papel celofán.

-When I finished the bags for the cotillions, I told some of my Hivers friends about it, and immediately with their bee spirit they wanted to join the project and started the donations to fill the 20 bags.

-Cuando terminé las bolsitas para los cotillones , se lo comenté a algunos de mis Hivers amigos, inmediatamente con su espiritu de abejas quisieron sumarse al proyecto y comenzaron las donaciones para rellenar las 20 bolsitas.

Contributions for the candies:

Thanks to the contributions of the Hivers, we gathered 15 HBD in a first exchange to bolivars to make the candy purchases, then a contribution of 5 more Hive gave us a total of 16.7 HBD.

I bought 2 packs of assorted fruit candies of different presentations, for a total of 200 candies. 1 pack of lollipops that brought 48 units, 4 packs of milk and cinnamon cookies were 48 little packs of cookies and 2 packs of 12 units of candy canes.

Aportes para los caramelos:

Gracias a los aportes de los Hivers, reunimos 15 HBD en un primer cambio a bolívares para hacer las compras de los dulces, luego un aporte de 5 Hive más nos dio un total de 16.7 HBD.

Compré 2 paquetes de caramelos surtidos de frutas de diferentes presentaciones, pars un total de 200 caramelos. 1 paquete de chupetas que traía 48 unidades, 4 paquetes de galletas de leche y canela fueron 48 paquetitos de galletas y 2 paquetes de 12 unidades de bastones de caramelo.

Some candy canes did not fit in the bags so I had to glue them on the outside, but all the cotillions had the same content.

Al gunos bastones de caramelo no entraron en las bolsitas por lo que me tocó pegarlos por fuera pero todos los cotillones tenían el mismo contenido.

The day of the Three Wise Men has arrived.

We invited the children in the morning to enjoy their cotillion. Some of them arrived in their pajamas because as soon as they woke up they came to get their candy.

Seeing those happy faces enjoying the candy made me feel that Hive is much more than a platform to share content, it's that place where you get the support of your friends when you need it.

Llegó el día de los reyes magos

Citamos a los niños en la mañana para que disfrutaran su cotillón. Algunos llegaron en pijamas porque nada más se levantaron vinieron a buscar sus dulces.

Ver esas caritas felices disfrutando de los dulces me hizo sentir que Hive es mucho más que una plataforma para compartir contenido, es ese lugar donde consigues el apoyo de tus amigos cuando los necesitas.
