My teacher once said that the future is like an orange fruit. When it is in the hand, one cannot say what is inside. When the fruit remains whole, it is difficult to predict whether it is rotten inside or not. What is inside of the fruit remains a mystery till when the fruit is cut.
The future is like the fruit there. We cannot know how it will be until we have entered into it. We are faced with a huge bag of uncertainty as we approach the future. All will could think of or imagine remains anticipation. We are not sure whether things will play out the way we expect or not. We can't tell what our fate will be until we are there. The envelope of uncertainty surrounding our future breeds worry.
Worry appears to me as the friction that makes progress possible. If there was nothing to worry about, maybe the world wouldn't be a better place. Just as we know that challenges are the building blocks of life. The stepping stones or the ladder that enhances life progress is in the challenges we face day by day. Worry could mean something horrible to people, but I came to realize that if there were no worry of failure, there would not be commitment and dedication to our jobs and duties. If there were no worry about insecurity, there would not be any sense of watchfulness and diligence. So, worrying makes us do what we are doing well. Worry makes us learn and become productive.
I appreciate the initiative of @ericvancewalton for bringing up this #memoirmonday challenge. I believe that participating in this memoir will make us understand even things about ourselves which we didn't consider important.
This is my entry for the week 9 of the challenge. I am attempting to answer the question:
What Do You Worry About?
I also invite you to make your entry into the challenge by using this link
My Future
The future is a journey which has no precise destination. Or even if I could say I have a destination by the definition of my dreams and purpose for life, the uncertainty of not knowing what could actually befall the journey at some point or the other brings a whole lot of worry. I worry about my future (what I will likely meet in the course of my life; what if out of human imperfections I happen to make the wrong choice). The fear of the future makes me worry. Not as if I would be lazy or unproductive, but there will always be an allowance for worrying. This is why risk comes in.
Ability To Live Out My Dreams
Everyone desires a fulfilled life for his/herself. We go to school to acquire education. We search for employment. We learn skills and professions. We do all these and many more to secure the kind of fulfilling life we wish for ourselves. While we are pursuing this ambition, there is a silent threat inside of us. That is the echo of worry. We are overshadowed with the fear whether we will be able to achieve our dreams and desires or not. This also worries me. I think about being able to achieve what I want for my life.
My Resolution
Though all these worries exist, I will not allow them to bury my life and destiny. I will work hard, trust God and make use of every opportunity that comes my way (like the opportunities unfolding in the hive blockchain) to secure for myself a better future and live out my dream life.
