I think one of the hardest things I did was cut out the midnight snack. It got ridiculous at one point, it moved from toast, to beans on toast, or fried egg, or sausage sandwiches. After a few months of it, I gained a fair bit of weight, and also my body got so used to it that I felt like I was starving myself by stopping. 2 years on, and I only eat up until 9 o'clock, and I feel way better for it. The first few weeks are tough, but the habit kicks in then and everything goes back to normal.
I've never had a pair of prescription shades, but I'd like to get some. Recently got a new pair of glasses myself, after about 4 years, and my sight hasn't changed all that much, I mainly needed new ones because the arms broke off the old pair and were held together with sellotape, so I couldn't really go outside wearing them.
A friend of mine has those large shade things he wears over his normal glasses. They're kind of like goggles. I don't blame you for not wanting them. They're odd and give off Bladerunner reject vibes haha
